Watch Sega's Captain America Kick Nazis in the Neck

Sega's released a trailer for its upcoming Captain America game, which (unsurprisingly) features a lot of Nazi fighting.

Nobody was surprised to hear that <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/104082-Sega-Unleashing-American-Super-Soldier>Sega would be releasing a game based on the Captain America movie that's due out next July. Now, the publisher has released a a trailer for the game that shows off some of Cap's acrobatic skills and his fighting prowess. Sadly, <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/98114-Captain-America-Movie-Will-Have-Musical-Numbers>no dancing sequences have yet to be featured.

Based on the footage shown, it's hard to tell if the game looks, y'know, good. The graphics seem pretty basic, while the platforming and combat segments don't really provide viewers with enough information to determine if they look like they'll actually be fun. Also, it seems like only a small portion of one level of the game was really being featured, so it'll be interesting to see just big and varied the game's world turns out to be.

While Captain America has definitely gained a lot of popularity with comic readers over the past few years - thanks in large part to <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Captain-America-Vol-Winter-Soldier/dp/0785119205/ref=sr_1_10?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1286567476&sr=1-10>Ed Brubaker's Eisner Award-nominated work on the comic series - he isn't exactly as popular as Iron Man or Spider-Man, so exactly how big of a hit the movie (and, by extension, the game) will be when it comes out remains to be seen. Not only that, but the game faces the added challenge of being a Marvel movie tie-in from Sega, which have been <a href=http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/the-incredible-hulk>mediocre-to-<a href=http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/iron-man>awful <a href=http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/iron-man-2>up to this point.

and the combat looks pretty kick ass, I hope it plays like Arkham Asylum's combat system, man that thing made me shit myself every time I had to crack skulls

*singing* America! FUCK YEAH! */singing*

OT: IDK what to think of this. On one hand, it looks awesome. On the other hand, Sega hasn't been the best guys for Marvel Movie games.

At this point, every Sega game I have played in the last few years, has been utter shit.

Huge comic fan that I am, I doubt I will be buying this game until I hear some excellent reviews and recommendations, particularly word-of-mouth positive comments, since I have seen an increasing amount of "reviewers" praise games that were mediocre at best.

You will be doing one thang, and one thang only...

killin Nazis
We in da business of killin' natzys. And brother, business is a-boomin'.

This thing looks freakin' epic, partially because CAPTAIN AMERICA BLOCKS CANNON FIRE WITH HIS SHIELD, and mostly because, well, it's friggin' Captain America!

its made of Vibranium and Adamantium. its pretty much indestructible, absorbs impacts and ricochets without loss of momentum.

A game about beating the crap out of Nazis.

What more could you want?

This is a game about a supersoldier who has been genetically altered so that he is super strong, super agile, and can live longer.

I pretty sure the creators of this game aren't worried about whether it's realistic or not.

Just saying.

Looks like the combat is similar to Arkham Asylum.
Then again, I could be completely wrong. :p

Though why would Nazi's be using shields too?
Shouldn't they have something like swords?
E: Or, derp, guns?
