Well after talking to the guys that do the articles for my main webcomic site I'll be *gasp* Finishing mine using the inks and blocking I already did for the contest and be posting them as a sub story in Fantasy Writ and continuing it a bit further in between working on my main storyline. So if anyone had any interest at all in mine it'll be posted on http://fantasywrit.com with it's own category eventually.

While I appreciate the honorable mention for Anubis...

With no hint of insincerity: "Poorly Drawn Shark" was my favorite. Fantastic job Davemossmedia.

The name alone sold me.

Alas, my favorite was not the deciding vote though. But realistically, I think it's safe to agree "Manly Guys Doing Manly Things" deserved the win (expect us to pay homage to you in the near future with an update). But nonetheless, well done to the victor.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in following Anubis it'll be posted on it's new home http://www.eyeshock.com sometime tomorrow. You're welcome to go read the default PHPNuke message in the meantime. It's a fantastic page turner.

Good stuff. Mine's up here >> http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/webcomic/view?id=74256&ix=7

I think I'm gonna continue mine, and try less to make it gamer-y... I'm better at just random slice-of-life stuff!
Hope you do, I enjoyed your submission. If you start it anywhere let us know, I'll have to put it on my list of "comics to read"
Lol, I just spent the past 4 hours or so doing some fairly crappy designing and coding, but I've got a site up and running.

I really enjoy a few of these comics and would love to know if any of them will appear regularly anywhere else on the net (Especially The Escapist Radio Theatre). I'm sure I'm not the only one.

If anyone is interested in continuing their comic I was thinking of building a site where we could host all of them.
I mean if everyone continues theirs elsewhere then we have 350 new web comics launched this week and most will be lost in the hustle.
I already have hosting and a rough design done for the homepage. Then we could do a different design for the individual comics too. Send me a message if your interested I guess.
If you already did put it up on it's own site then let me know and I will link to it.

would have been nice to have separate threads for each comic so we could comment on them.

Would be nice. I for one have decided to continue my comic. What would have been even better would be if the Escapist made it so those who wanted to continue with their comics could have them hosted here on the the Escapist. Sure, it would probably defeat the purpose of this contest, but then they would have one whom they pay for the comic and a few free comics hosted along the way. It's like hirering someone and then get a free cake.

Having 350 threads for each comic would probably be a bit too much, but would be nice if the honorable mentions had a comment thread for them.

The winner was really boring for me to read, but good luck with it.

I think the "Manly Guys Doing Manly Things" is much more entertaining.

The art's lovely.

But the writing...

Less is really more. There's a lot of ideas floating about, which all have their place, but there's no real cohesion to anything going on.

Taking the first comic - HEY, HEY...Where did the little sister come from, why does she look different, why is he eating when he's after ADAM, why is she so...whatever it is she's showing.

Second - Dodgy topic...who are these people? Who says who are idiots? Who is the Prince snuggling?

It's got real potential, but it really needs a focus.

Third - Each of those Heroes could be a strip in itself.

Fourth - Remember your commas! :) But again it's a mixture of ideas. Split cell jokes should hit the punchline fast and get out for the next one.

Overall : Plot, cohesion and K.I.S.S. :)

Man I love your critique.. You're so right about almost everything..

first panel: I knew I should've drawn a little sister on his shoulder in the first one!
But the cream cake, you need to play Bioshock to get it, you find them in a goddamn trashcan!
AND EAT THEM! It struck me as really odd.. (and disgusting)

Second panel : I thought it was obvious, "them" is the people making the POP movie..and that's the vizier. Jake G > Brokeback mountain > gay POP ending :D ..
Uhh.. No?
:(

Third panel : Thanks :D, although I do think I went overboard with the speech(!)

Fourth panel : commas where? and how much faster could I've done it?

Don't get me wrong, I ain't arguing my way out of it, if anything it's my bad cuz if a comic needs explaining it's not good enough in the first place. =( .

That said I do love the way you explained it, really appreciate it :)
Can you PM me how you would've written them?

Awww,I didn't get any tips/comment...writes sad face on the sand with a stick...
Can't have that - It's got great four-colour art, but the story doesn't always come across. For example, comic 1 doesn't really say what's happening. I can imagine that all the A's are violent people, but does that mean the girl's pressing X are all into lesbianism???
There needs to be a bit of a pause between the lead-up and the punchline, as comic 3 draws your attention to the lift before the idea of the level up joke gets in.

I'd also like to say that Caliostro's 404 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/webcomic/view?id=74354&ix=11], happyelf's Top Down Tale [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/webcomic/view?id=74353&ix=11], johnsojn's Hi Rez Heroes [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/webcomic/view?id=74366&ix=11] are well worth a look.
Oi,almost missed your critique,thanks a bunch!

Man, yours is freaking awesome.

Thanks for all the kind words, folks! Here's another for people who said they wanted to see more, just wanted to get this done in time for the GoW III release.

Yeah, that's what I meant- not all of them- just the 15.
