What would we, as a community call the weeaboos of gaming? I'm talking about people who only play one genre (usually shooters) and think they know everything about games.

While I'm at it, what about music weeaboos who restrict themselves on only one or two genres?

Weeaboo is kind of an odd word to use when applying to it genes, the problem with a weeaboo is that it is a person subscribing to a culture and treating it as divine both good and bad aspects and generally looking like asshats in the process. The problem is that I don't think anyone really accepts any genre handsdown. Hell most FPS players will argue to the death which game is better and which ones suck, they don't accept all FPS as good.
The closest thing, oddly enough, to a weeaboo in gaming would be JRPG fans, they seem to eat that shit up regardless of how good or bad or repetitious it is.

I am well aware of what it means. It is ignorant obsessiveness directed towards Japan. As urban dictionary would put it:

There's no equivalent to weaboo for all of gaming, though I guess "fanboi" fits for individual genres/platforms/developers. Or possibly the negative connotations of the phrase "PC master race".

I don't think there's one for music though...

I think the Weaboos of gaming would be the same as the Weaboos of... well, everything else.

People who think every game that comes out of Japan is superior in every way to every game that doesn't come out of Japan. Completely ignoring the fact that there's just as many crap titles that come from Japanese developers as there are that comes from western developers and vice versa, there's just as many masterpieces that come from the West as there are that come from Japan.

If we're going by your definition of ignorant obsession then, well I'd still say that my answer fits. People who obsessively scoop up games just because of where they were developed

You just answered it yourself, ignorant obsession. There isn't a term for that which applies exclusively to games or music. Probably because they aren't as many outspoken people like that so we never had to group them under a negative label.

I like oldschool arcade games and the fact that the Japanese who have the coin op arcade heritage tend to "get" fast arcade pacing gameplay better than most westerners who have evolved from the PC.

People who restrict themselves to a single genre and god-praise it while condemning everything else are people i usually refer to as "narrow minded fuckheads", but that's just me.

I don't really think it's a good idea to find terms for each specific genre though. Labeling people for their interests only leads to a sort of discrimination all us gamers should stand united against.
