Welcome to the new Current Events subforum! Following your feedback about the number of political threads in Off Topic, we have decided to open this place to better curate the topics you want to talk about.
In order to provide a friendly and welcoming environment for all who post here, however, we are laying down the following rules in addition to the existing Code of Conduct:
[li]Please have respect for your fellow forum users. Any remarks aimed at the individual rather than their argument, however slight, will be considered an infraction. Likewise, intentionally inflammatory statements will be moderated harshly.[/li]
[li]Racism, sexism or any other kind of hate speech will not be tolerated.[/li]
[li]Gross generalisations about groups of people who visit the Escapist are not permitted.[/li]
[li]Outright bullying or harassment will result in a permanent ban.[/li]
[li]Please do not post dox, private photographs or other personal data.[/li]
[li]Keep threads on-topic. This rule will be enforced more strictly here than elsewhere on the site, and includes commentary on moderator actions within a thread.[/li]
[li]Please do not carry grievances between threads. Keep focused on the topic at hand.[/li]
[li]As ever, advertising, pornographic content and the advocacy of piracy and other illegal acts are strictly forbidden.[/li]
Failure to adhere to these rules or any other in the Code of Conduct may result in a thread lock and/or infractions for those involved. You have been warned.
