Well Square, you finally did it... you killed Final Fantasy (A Rant)

The last Final Fantasy i enjoyed was 10.

I completely hated the battle system of 12 and the License Board, which was apparently os bad they had to make a improved version of the game. The gambit system made the game play itself with little involvement of your own.

Final Fantasy 13 had similar problems as far as automating battles goes and the cast couldn't really interest me in the game. I lost interest pretty early on, and hearing they split it over 3 whole games i don't even regret it.

I don't see you screaming and whining that the main focus of FF13 for the past 3 games has been a feminized Cloud Strife, yet male leads for FF15 and you're flipping your trip. Yet when girls get added into rosters, you usually get childish girls, or dark brooding past drama everywhar OMG girls. Remember: Japan loves, adores, and devours "Moe". The most you get from female characters that are forced into the game is some squeaky voiced cute girl that fanboys will lap up.

I like female main characters too, but I'm not going to delude myself that a game has to have a bunch of girls in it for the sake of having them there. It's always horrible if they're there just to be there, but if they're there because the creator is passionate about having them there... well... we got FF6, didn't we?

The thing that strikes me the most is...you call yourself an FF and are willing to stop gaming it for no playable female character...are you really a fan of the series? Sorry but no. You aren't a valid fan if you are going to pick one tiny point and blow it out of proportion and stop playing it for the one minor point. Full details haven't even been released...

There are likely going to be other more important issues with the game, even if there are no playable female characters.

The poster above me also makes a very point about FF13 and its sequels.

I've never played any Final Fantasy game, buuuut, are you really complaining about character designs NOW?! I mean, just look at them!

If anything, characters on your picture are actually very well designed.

I agree with this point, after all Final Fantasy, (which the designers initially did not intend to become a franchise) has had so many outlandish and even 'sexualized' character designs that to see the more toned down depiction is very refreshing.

My thoughts exactly, it's very rare to see Final Fantasy characters who look plausible in the way they dress, specially for battle.
