Defining, with an 'E'.

My moments are:

Playing A Link to the Past for the first time

Exploring the DC Ruins for the first time

Seeing the Unreal engine environments in Gears of War

Getting my first 26 kill streak in COD online and 1000GP in COD4

Listening to this song while playing Quake 2:
Getting a Yellow Party Hat (while wearing my 'at the time' full dragon) in Runescape.
Getting Obsidian armor for the first time in Guild Wars.
Getting my Onyx Netherdrake (after three months of playing) in World of Warcraft.

I immediately thought 'wow that's very NIN-ish... lo and behold Trent Reznor did the music for Quake 1:

Looks like someone at Infinity Ward was listening to this when they did the score for MW...

I didn't like the music in Quake 1 nearly as much to the second. The second was done mostly by Sonic Mayhem. I also don't like Nine Inch Nails at all........

I though both soundtracks were great.

EDIT:

And that Quake 2 guy was clearly hugely influenced by NIN, right down to the staccato fuzz guitar sound.

scoring a headshot off of a deflected sniper round in Halo: CE.

accidentally shooting the first and probably ever crotch-rail shot in Sniper Elite.
(2sacks, 1bullet in slow mo)
being made extremely patriotic IRL by President John Henry Eden.

seeing Liberty Prime THROW a nuke like a damn football for the first time.

clocking 500hrs in Oblivion.

getting the uncanny talent of finding item boxes in the oddest, darkest spots in just about any game, thus earning me the moniker, ", Item Whore Extrordinaire".

May 29'th 1995 - my uncle brings me a SEGA Mega Drive 2 for my 3-rd birthday, i start shooting people on Demolition Man [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demolition_Man_%28video_game%29], over the next 8 or so years i enmass a decent cartridge collection.

1999 - My mom gets a Pentium II for work. I stick to my SEGA.

2001 - A classmate gives me a 1.44 floppy with about a hundred different small arcade games. SkiFree teaches me valuable lessons about life. I start regularing PC clubs with friends.

2002-2003? - I see a abandonware article in a PC gaming magazine. Over modem internet i gain access to games runable on the Pentium 2. My PC gaming horizons broaden and move away from Diablo 2 and CS. Dune 1 and 2, X-Com, Ultima Underworld, KGB, Chaos Overlords, good times, good times.

2005 - My mom gets a new work computer - 512MB RAM, GeForce MX440 - back on the Half Life and CS train, GTA 3, AvP, 3d goodness and whatnot, still 90% don't match the quality of the abandonware i played earler.

2007 - my own PC. GeForce8600GT, 2GB RAM and a 2.1 Ghz Dual Core CPU.

And a few upgrades later, we're in present day. All in all - i'd list Dune 1 and Ultima Underworld - The Stygian Abyss as the games with most influence on me. Effin masterpieces.

First time I played Warcraft III.
I couldn't sleep that night. I wanted to play it more.

Second time was playing the campaign for Warcraft III. (Thus learning my good english ability)

Third and last time was first experiencing the thrill of Oblivion on the PC.
Played it for many a year, exploring new classes.

Watching early trailers for Goldeneye (on VHS!) supplied by an N64 magazine that I use to purchase monthly.

I was sure that games couldnt get any better than the trailers I was watching.
99.9% have not.
.09% nearly have.
.01% have. [debatable]

Getting sucked into a MUD called DragonRealms. I was associated with it for nearly 12 years. Most of that time was great, but I missed out on a lot.

Getting my first game console, and xbox.

Getting my second console, an xbox 360.

Playing Fallout 3 one day and realizing that I had played it for more hours than there were dollars in the purchase price.

1) Getting a N64 and thus beginning my career as a gamer
2) Getting my first notebook PC and playing some crappy educational games
3) Getting a REAL PC and starting to play REAL games on it.

long time of endless pc rig upgrades, never running shit on high, not to mention maximum settings until...

4) Getting a PS3 (finally).
