Current albums are:
Untitled Unmastered by Kendrick Lamar
Fear of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Albums I've lined up:
The Seer by The Swans
The Life of Pablo by you know who
Sound & Colour by Alabama Shakes
Rare Chandeliers by Action Bronson and The Alchemist
Plastic Surgery Disasters + In God We Trust by Dead Kennedys
No Love Deep Web by Death Grips
And loads of other stuff, but the above is what I'll try to get through this month.
UU is pretty good, if very loose and just a compilation of demo tracks. Obviously I love me some Kendrick, as you can see by my profile, but all of his albums take some time to unpack anyway. Currently, really loving Untitled 2 and 8, those are both fantastic, but I think 7 drags on too long in the 3rd part.
Public Enemy is part of my Rap History Lesson; that specific album was recommended by a friend of mine, and so far I love it. The production, in particular the sampling work is absolutely amazing, especially for that day and age. The only problem I have is that the album is so big and so musically loud that it takes time to get through them.
As for Bob Dylan, well, I've never fully gotten into his music. People suggested Highway 61 since it is the first time he went electric, and I'm digging it right now. I use it more as a relaxation album than anything else, but I do find it quite charming. It hasn't converted me into Dylanism, but at the same time, it has kept my attention throughout last week, so who knows where it will go after more listens.
