to keep this simple i think we should keep PC stuff down to what OS they run
any way this is what i owned

Dragon (about same age as commador 64)
amega 500
windows 3.11
playstation
Windows ME
Windows XP
Playstation 2

as you see i have a unusual progression missing out most of the consoles on the way although i did play on most of them at some point.

C64
NES
95
98 (I think Unreal Tournament appeared around here, I had a 8mb GFX card which was AWESOME at the time, got me more in gaming, I still didn't have dial-up and used the arrow keys to aim)
2000
PS2
XP (This rig is awful and need an update, waiting for the next batch of nvidia cards before spending any money as the Crysis demo made everyone who spend £300 on a 8800 want to kill themselves due to the poor frame rates)
X360 (Never once had that post-purchase-depression feeling, which I didn't expect, still yet to experience the huge screen thing, as I'm not allowed on the sacred 42" in the shrine they call the living room)

Playstation 2 was my brothers, but I spent hours on Twisted Metal Black online. Shame about the PS3, would be a great console if it had a few more games and/or was worth the price tag.

I don't remember much of the C64, I had a game where you were a football on a path made of coloured squares...in space, with holes that you had to avoid.

Double Dragon II, Robocop and Mario Brothers 3 got the most abuse on the NES, two players at once on double dragon II was immense at the time, especially with the friendly fire mode.

I was rather slow to get on the wagon:
Atari 2600
Atari 800LX computer system (my fathers but for its time it rocked)
NES
SNES
PSX
N64 (only because someone sold me one at a VERY discounted price along with seven games; I only bought two more games for it and soon after just stopped playing it all together in favor of my PSX)
PS2
XBox & Gamecube
I got both of these at the exact same time, for each one was only $150 a piece, and I had $500 in my pocket that I was ready to go to a casino and gamble with, but instead got these systems, thinking it would be a better investment. I've been moderately happy with that decision ever sense.

My first PC was a Gateway of which I gutted out and upgraded for about two years before actually assembling another PC from scratch, of which I've upgraded twice now and is my current system, though I'm do for another upgrade probably next summer. In no way would I ever "keep up with the Joneses" here, but it's good to upgrade once tech drops in price and will do what you need it to do.

Computer:

Windows 3.1 (briefly)
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows 2000
Windows ME (AUGH!)
Windows XP
Windows Vista

I had first used Apple when I was in elementary school, but wasn't aware of the difference of operating systems back then. Even so, I attributed that as part of the reason the school's computers sucked. :p I've used Unix coming to College, but am honestly not much of a fan. I'm comfortable with Windows, though I've been having issues with Vista due to nVidia's driver policy being COMPLETE SHIT! Thanks to nVidia, I've finally gotten the Windows blue screen of death. Before, I've been on a clean streak...even with ME!

As for consoles...

Calecovision
Nintendo
GameBoy
Super Nintendo
Playstation
N64
GameBoy Advance
PS2
Xbox
GameCube
Xbox 360
Wii

Atari 2600
Coleco Gemini
Atari 7800
Intellivision
Intellivision III
Nintendo Play& Watch - Mario Bros.
Commodore 64
TurboGrafix 16 (with CD)
Sega Game Gear
Sega Genesis
Sega CD
SNES
Sega Nomad
Neo GEO Pocket
Nintendo VirtualBoy
Sega Saturn
Playstation
Panasonic 3DO
Dreamcast
Nintendo 64
Playstation 2
Xbox
Gamecube
Gameboy Advance SP
Nintendo DS
Xbox 360
Wii
Plastation 3
Custom full size MAME cabinet

All still working, all still hooked up with the exception of redundant systems, the Gamecube has been reboxed in favor of the Wii for example. And yes, I missed the entire 8bit era. My parents were in control back then and they said it was an NES or the C64. I stand by my choice. I'll pick up an NES when I can find an authentic top loader at a reasonable price. I am also working on a 5200, a Vetrex and a Colecovison. But they are hard to find in good shape.

I?m not going to bother listing all the OS?s I?ve gone through. Suffice to say every MSOS from DOS 3 up to XP Media Center, and a few variations of Linux.

In the order I owned them:

Atari 2600
SNES - That's right I missed out on the NES era, and yes it scarred me for life.
Playstation
PC - Windows 3.1,95,98
N64
PC - Windows XP around this time
Dreamcast
Xbox
Gamecube
Mac running Windows XP through Bootcamp

That's right folks, I also missed out on the PS2, and have yet to jump into the current iteration of the console wars while desperately clinging to PC gaming. I still have my Dreamcast, mostly because it is a haven for Street Fighter games.

I've got a 360, an Xbox, and a rustbucket of a pc thats just reaching the end of its lifespan after i've upgraded bits and pieces.

But yeah, the pc's like, 6-7 years old, with new bits swapped in over the years. Looking forward to a new pc. I used to use my pc to game online, But then i got my 360, and i've owned a console from every generation,

Atari [Broken]
Master system [Sold by my mother for getting into trouble at school]
Mega drive [i have a Mega drive II]
Playstation [sold to buy PS2]
Game boy [still used on occasion, Still trying to finish Metroid two.]
Playstation 2 [broke.]
Game Boy advance SP [you tell me, i cant find it anywhere.]
PS2 Slimline [sold to buy xbox]
Xbox [In the attic]
Xbox 360 [sitting proudly beside me.]

Original Odyssey (put the static-cling plastic sheets on your TV and used a light gun)
Fairchild F (had a funky "lightsaber-like" looking controller with a knob on top)
Vic-20 (had the expansion RAM that made it a full 20K of memory)
Atari 2600
C-64
Amiga 500
IBM 386 (upgraded to 386 when Wing Commander I came out)
IBM 486 (upgraded when Wing Commander II came out)
SNES
Pentium (upgraded when Wing Commander III came out)
PS1
PS2
X-Box (currently broken - red ring of death / bad boot rom)

Probably going to stick with my PS2 for a while since new games are still coming out for it. As soon as the X-Box 360 drops a bit in price that will be first on my list.

Every major U.S. Nintendo release, at some point or another. Including the Virtual Boy, which got a bad rap.

I had the PS1 modded (pre-DMCA, thank you), the PS2, the Xbox, Bleem!, and all the MS OSes, save Vista, which I'll never, ever install. I've also got a Linux machine for giggles, and I run OS X as my primary OS.
