I know it sounds like an awfully odd question but I am going down to California soon and I want to eat things that we don't have here in Canada and one of those most important things is Cereal. What does Trix, Fruity Pebbles, and Cookie Crisp all taste like? (I know it's all a matter of opinion but I figure the best one will make me decide on what cereal to get)

I like fruity pebbles, personally. Trix is alright, along with Cookie Crisp.

What kind of cereal do y'all have in Canada, if you don't mind me askin'

Trix is fruity and tangy like Cap'n Crunch, but it doesn't cut your mouth as much.

Fruity pebbles is also fruity and tangy, but sweeter and closer to the texture of Rice Crispies. This is my favorite of the ones you listed.

And Cookie Crisp...it's like those 100 calorie diet snacks that are supposed to taste like cookies but really taste like vaguely chocolaty and sweet wafers.

imagine eating cereal that tastes like pure sugar with varying textures, coloring, and occasionally fruity artificial flavor.
in other words: decadent, horrible for you, a disgustingly bad breakfast, and totally and utterly sublime.

oh god, that's a long list but off the top of my head (from my local grocery store) Cheerios, Honey Comb, Lucky Charms, Fruit Loops, Reese Peanut Butter Cups cereal (whatever it's called), Shreddies, (and all variations) Honey Nut Cheerios, Froot Loops, Alpha Bits, Frosted Flakes, Weetabix, Shredded Wheat, Special K, Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, and not too mention all the "healthy" cereals.

make sure you bring some ketchup and salt and vinegar chips to trade for that sweet sweet American cereal.

Seriously those chips are addicting.

here's a list of other 'canadian' foods you could bring:

According to an informal survey by the Globe and Mail conducted through Facebook from collected comment, users considered the following to be the Canadian National dish, with Maple syrup likely above all the other foods if it was considered:[11]

51% Poutine
14% Montreal-style bagels
11% Salmon jerky
10% Pierogis
7% Ketchup chips
4% Donair
what the heck is salmon jerky and where can I get some?

We have Cookie Crisp in the UK, and it doesn't really taste like cookies all that much. It still taste alright though if you are into the whole Chocolate for breakfast kinda thing which I know some people aren't.

Trix and fruity pebbles taste like fruit loops.

While I'm not from the US but I have tried Cookie Crisp. Watch out for the cookie flakes tend to absorb the milk when you put the spoonful in your which result the flake get suck into your tongue!

Captain Crunch is good but it cuts the roof of my mouth. The marshmallows in Lucky Charms, when I few them, really make these odd sound in my head and it disturbs me, I just hate the feeling. Cheerios just don't do it for me. Fruity Loops makes me want to throw up.

One i've been eating lately is Wheaties with a touch of fruit in the middle. God tier cereal right there

Trix is a little too fruity for me actually.

Fruity Pebbles are OK, but you have to eat them quickly or else the milk (you ARE putting milk, right?) will make them go limp and they'll feel icky.

Cookie Crisps I LOVE! Little, tiny chocolate chip cookies! Mmmmmmm!

All three taste like sugary wafers, though pebbles has quite a nice scent.

The only cereal I eat now is Honey Bunches of Oats. Now thats how you do a sweet tasting cereal. None of that sugar coating and crazy flavor crap found in many other cereals.

Trix and fruity pebbles use the same fruity flavorings (flavorings which are somewhat different from those in Froot Loops, but identical to those in Fruity Cheerios if you've ever had either one of those), but they have different textures from one another, with Trix being more like Peanut Butter Crunch, and Fruity Pebbles being like Rice Krispies. Trix used to be fruit shaped, but the molds got switched out for boring round ones a few years back. Cookie Crisp is kind of weird, like something between cereal and a shortbread cookie; the description of being like the cookies in those 100 calorie packs is actually pretty accurate, and real chocolate chip cookies they are definitely not. Pretty tasty, though.

P.S.: Not to ruin Lucky Charms for anyone, but next time you see a bag of dry catfood, look at the shapes. For some reason, the cereal pieces use molds in the same shape as a lot of cat food brands -- the ones that use little circles and x's, not the ones that use fish and stuff. For that matter, the ball shaped cereals I mentioned earlier bear a striking resemblance to certain brands of dogfood.

Edit: It's been too long since I've had lucky charms.

It has the fish shapes too.
