Going abroad. Takes a hell of a long time to save up, but it's worth it to spend about a month just relaxing and enjoying a foreign culture. I have saved up £1100 so far and aim to have £2000 by next year so I can go back to Japan.

Necessities. I rarely have any money because I make so little. That's likely to change soon, but whatever.

I very rarely have money over to spend on novelties. I can't afford to buy games brand-new, so I have to wait until the prices drop, or buy pre-owned. T_T

Still, it is very daunting when you have a few quid to spare and you see a game you really want and then you stop to think; "As much as I would like to buy that game I am running low on toothpaste and I need to buy more milk because I used more than planned, again". Repeat, and suddenly all the excess runs out. *sob*

this month I spent it on a tattoo I've wanted for a while, I buy games and and occasionally drink then I save alot of money so I can one day buy a house so I don't get to spend nearly as much as I'd like to =P

then there is the base money: bills, charity, food and health (gym-membership and stuff like that)

The question is in the title. What does your money go to? I can understand this may be a very personal question to some people, but answer what you want. And I am talking more about spare money, rather than bills and food. Personally, I try to give some to charity (although I don't give as much as I'd like to) and every few months I buy a game, but most of the time, I'll be honest, my spare money goes to alcohol. And I'm ok with that

Yea, I mean granted saving money is saving money and a lil extra cash in the bank is never a bad thing. But then you're just not enjoying it! I think what I've spent the most money on this summer was an excavation I went on with my uni and I can safely say I spent just as much or more or alcohol and other such luxuries than I did on the travel to get there.
