I recently did a playthrough of Tomb Raider Underworld on Core Online - free with ads.
It was stable for most of the time, and even when it wasn't, I'm not sure if it was due to the Core Online platform or the game itself.
The ads can be annoying if you run out of time in the middle of a cutscene, a timed puzzle, etc, but it can be avoided if you watch the ads ahead of time to get more game time (1 minute of ads = 20 minutes of gameplay). One annoying thing about the ads is that if you switch to another window/tab, the ad pauses, and until it has played all the way, you don't get the game time for that ad.
Core Online doesn't allow for much configuration: You can only change resolution (360p, 720p or 1080p) and one setting called quality (which seemed to affect only shadows and lighting). Definitely not enough settings.
For some reason, there's no way to restart a level if the option isn't within the game (and it isn't in this case). Since it has a level menu outside of the game, one would think that it would be easy to implement. Whenever you return to a level, you will be exactly where you left off.
I think it has great potential, but needs some work. I think that many games can work better in this model. What do you think of Core Online?
