So i just got the game and there is no doubt it is a tough game. It is clearly more difficult than the first but sometimes i wonder if the normal difficulty I am playing it on right now is just a little too hard. The special infected, especially the charger, does ridiculous damage if it even hits you and everyone is constantly lookin for med packs to get out of the red. It feels like the normal difficulty is playing like a hard but I dont want to drop down into easy. Anyone else have comments about the difficulty level?

i too found it tough to start with, that's why I played on easy for a while to get used to the map layout (they're so open! >.< I've gotten lost before). I'm still not sure when's a good time to use melee or pistols, so far I feel comfortable with the magnum, but I can't help but feel I should be using melee instead :S

I'll make a walk through for you:
1) get gun, shoot zombie

it's that simple!

there are some difference in my walkthrough
1) get good teammates
2)get gun/ melee weapon
3)kill zombies
4)survive
5)suceed
follow these 5 simple steps and you will be well on your way to L4D2 mastery

oh yes I forgot about the team mates, although it depends, on xbox live good team mates are just as rare as a tiger wearing a hat while dancing.

Well, since the new AI is batshit retarded, I found the game to be a bit more challenging.

Well it's better than the first one, that was way to easy.

This is officially the most epic conversation I've ever seen on The Escapist.

OT: Definitely harder than L4D2. I used to be able to fool around on Normal, but now I find that without decent team mates who communicate properly, I often get fucked over by even the smallest mistakes.

It's mainly harder 'cause the new special infected are ALL about breaking up the team. In the first game staying together was pretty easy.

But I agree, the charger is crazily strong. But I find the threat more challenging, makes holding up in hallways more dangerous.

It's brutal alright. Our group were able to beat an expert campaign of the first game in around the hour mark when L4D2 came out and after the demo we were expecting to steam roll through it and hope Realism provided a challenge... oh how we were wrong.

Dead Center provided the first area of frustration. The 1st area of the mall level with all the escalator runs and the CONSTANT horde caused all 4 of us to rage quit a couple of times (having the horde and special infected still spawning while fighting a tank was just too much).

After that Dark Carnival just kept fucking us in the but with witch spawns, like at every crucial crescendo moment there was a fucking witch by the switch/alarm/exit.

Swamp Fever was surprisingly the easiest. Only the twin tanks at the finale gave us issues.

We go stuck on the finale of Hard Rain and haven't played for a couple of weeks since. Anyone have any tips on avoiding a full speed tank when up to your knees in water?

Gimme under 175 ping (Oh man I hate Wifi in rural(wifi on top of my house not wifi IN house )) and Expert isn't bad.

Advanced Realism pushes me alot, and dieing won't be THAAAT unusual. And only once have I beaten an entire campaign on Expert Realism, I was doing single player (0 ping! Huzza!!!) and it took me well over 3 hours. [sub]But it was worth it dammit![/sub]

*Edit

Whoops forgot to put my over all feel of it.

I think it's hard on the hardest, but not punishing. God forbid you set up a lan game and try to play it, it'd be a cake walk! Just work as a team, communicate often and you'll be fine (assuming you have under 175 ping QQ)

I'm on PC By the way. Herp Derp Console gamers suck at FPS when it comes to our skill and their skill (due to M&KB) herp derp trolling! trolling! [sub]I kid I kid.[/sub]

Expert on L4D1 = Advanced on L4D2
I'd also like to say that it's complete bullshit how you are completely immobilized when ONE zombies hits you in L4D2.

It's fucking punishing, but in a really good way. It never feels cheap.

Realism on Expert is death incarnate.
It isn't that bad if you have friends good at it.
I don't really suggest joining public games with others thou.

Other advice is equiping a magnum, because it kills most zombies in 1 shot(sniper rifles are much weaker for some reason)

well you could say that the sniper rounds go faster and therefore do less damage than the slower magnum

ot: Im having a lot of trouble too but me and my friends aren't exactly the best

Still doesn't make sense.

A good tip is to communicate. Preferably with a microphone .
