You guys got it wrong, Luigi has the magic mushrooms, Mario has pills.

How about the agents from Elite Beat Agents? When you don't know what to do, you just get them to help you, plus you have the most entertaining ever thing to watch.

Hang with for a weekly poker match? Someone cool who wouldn't mind if i tool some of their money. The Engie from tf2 would be a good choice, he knows how to have a good time. Also link from LoZ, but i'd get tired of all the yelling all the time.
