Mine was Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation. My stepdad had an operation done, so that was all he played. He and I would take turns playing it when I got home from school. I still love to play all of them to this day. Whenever I do, it reminds me of those good times.

But my question to you all is, what game hooked you into video games? Why? And do you still play this game?

The first game I can remember playing is Simon the Sorcerer with my dad, when I was about 5 years old or so. Of course, I couldn't understand English, but my dad told me about the things, I couldn't glean from just looking at the screen.

I still love the game today, in fact, I even have it on my phone, if I feel like playing it at some point. I recently did a playthrough and the humour and graphics still hold up today. It's a marvelous game.

Nintendo, fuck yeah
I figured a lot of people would say Nintendo. It's weird because I grew up with a PS in my home ever since I was like 6. My friend says that I was deprived.

The whole Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt cartridge was the bomb. Lightgun technology blew my little mind.

And Gyromite, cuz it taught me how fun betrayal could be >.>

Super Mario All-Stars, my first memory is actually waking up and playing this game, and I've been a gamer ever since.

I think it was Ghost 'n Goblins on the Commodore 64 but I am not entirely sure. It is one of the first I remember playing (and remember the title of that is). What really hooked me was Wings on the Amiga 500 and the TSR Gold Box games.

Metroid Fusion. It was the very first game that actually had an emotional effect on me and made me care about characters in it. It was also the first really stellar game I ever played. Not a ton of replay value, since it is very linear, but there's the items to collect and, believe it or not, a hidden cutscene. I love it forever.

Pong.
Oh wait... You mean the first one I played?
Age of Empires II, I think...
Pong is the very first video game to be popular enough to actually have consoles dedicated to play it but it isnt the first video game at all

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault

I've played a few games off and on before then, but that is the one that set me off on the journey.
