-I spend more money on tech than clothes. Along with this, I hate shopping for clothes.
-I hate chick TV shows like the Bachelorette or Fashion/Celebrity Gossip.
-I'm a gamer, which is still a dude thing.
-My magazine of choice is Game Informer and not some women's magazine. I can't even name one. Like... Cosmo? I think that's one.
-I listen to metal, which has a high male fan base, almost exclusively.
-I don't expect a man to support me and be my Prince Charming. I plan on earning my own income and having a career.
-I despise Twilight and cheesy romance flicks.
All of the above annnnnnd:

I play D&D, hate wearing skirts and heels, and does not tan or wear make up

None of them

Seriously, I don't identify with any male stereotypes and... I'm kinda happy about that.
Hell, I don't even look like a boy. Just a kinda boyish looking girl >.>

Well, I can't think of many gender things I go against (other than loving games and threatening to kick peoples asses often), but I do easily go against racial stereotypes. I'm German-Irish, but I hate all forms of alcohol. I do love potatoes though.

Oh, and I also hate mayonnaise.

I don't drink alcohol period. Think it's vile. I enjoy shopping quite a bit, especially for sneakers. I can cook pretty well. I cry when I have to and in front of certain people.

Straight male, here.

I'm a guy, and certain songs make me cry.

...

O.K. certain punk rock songs, but still; tears of joy.

Edit: also I've been mistaken for a female, but thats kinda off-topic

First off, I'm a male.

-I tried for a few years to enjoy sports, but I can't fucking stand it anymore. Same with racing and all that.

-I'm a vegetarian.

-I love animals.

-I enjoy well made chick flicks, if that isn't too much of an oxymoron.

-I am starting to become interested in fashion (other people's, not mine for a few reasons).

-I suffer from a lot of self image issues that all of my female friends do. Not sure how much of a feminine thing this is though...

-Apparently I just act really feminine when I'm comfortable and being myself.

-I talk about emotions, hopes, dreams, ect.

-I am interested in men (and women too).

-I'm only dominant and "alpha" when I have to be.

-I find it hard to enjoy "hardcore" shit a lot of the time as of recently. I can't stand playing extremely violent videogames.

-I started using the word Kawaii...

I guess when you spend 90% of your time with chicks, some shit tends to rub off on you. I mean, there's still a ton of masculine aspects to me, but that's not really what this thread's about..

EDIT: Oh, and I cry a lot and get very emotional over trivial things.

I can't stand sports, cars or action movies. I have absolutely zero desire to be competitive. I like MLP:FiM.

I abhor soap operas.
I am entirely uninterested in gossip magazines (sad rags)
I hate shopping
I would rather play video games than go "dancing"

I despise the "I'm just a girl" use. For example recently a few friends and i were playing pool, one of their girlfriends decided that she should have extra turns and essentially flaut the rest of the rules as she was "just a girl".Why not try to learn how to play properly with those who have the patience to teach you rather than refuse to try?

Can't stand FPS, love JRPG.
Ferrets are SO ADORABLE I mean my god wow. I just love those cute little animals.

I think the soap opera thing is more generational than anything else.

Let's see here
-I'm a male who doesn't watch sports, nor really give a damn about them
-I'm not a gearhead, nor do I care that you think my car is terrible.

Too many to list them all. Let's see..

- I absolute love cute things and animals.
- I am very interested in emotions.
- I love art and aesthetics.
- I don't care for cars or driving.
- I don't like action movies or violence in general (though when done with emotion and elegance, I absolute love it).
- I am a pacifist, detest the military, and hate real-life guns (but love them in games).
- I'm much more interested in social dynamics/human interaction, psychology, and how society works than engineering or hands-on work.

I don't give a crud about being manly. I'd much rather enjoy my life than pretending to be something I'm not.
Except for my lacking an interest in most things artistic - this is pretty much me. Added to that, it's not uncommon for me to tear up during books/movies/particularly-well-made-youtube-videos. And I don't care that people think I'm strange. I'm not ashamed :)

For example, I think Before Sunrise [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112471/] is an absolutely beautiful movie.
That movie ;_;. There is a sequel P.S.

Uhh, I dunno. I'm not very sociable and I have very little tact, which are normally my people's greatest skills. I actively watch live fighting game tournaments/play games which makes my family ridicule me (i.e. this is your LIFE?!). I live in my pajamas. I'm pretty low-key. I jokingly boast about bowel movements etc. I can be crude. I don't like sweets that much, so ice-cream can't console me. Had to do wedding photos recently, I was the only one who didn't cross their legs, oops. It didn't even occur to me.
Ooooh..... I'll have to get that :D.

As for ever being told "this is your LIFE?!", my answer's pretty simple: "Yes, it is."

And I heartily approve of living in pyjamas.

But isn't joking about bowel movements considered feminine? Or is that only my mom being weird (i.e. it's only a small one...).

EDIT: Just realized that ;_; is apparently a sad emoticon (yeah, my internet non-verbal skills are just as horrible as my RL ones :p). But how is that movie sad? Touching, sure. But I found it nothing but beautiful, not sad in any way.

Personally, I think it's less just gender, and more gender and age roles.
For example, as a 16 year old male, I:
-Am not interested in drugs, alcohol or smoking.
-Have never had a girlfriend. (For various reasons, but it'll happen someday! [sub][sub][sub]Maybe...[/sub][/sub][/sub]
-Don't have any gaming platform elitism. In my school there is a massive amount of it.
-I will, on occasion, read something (shock horror!)
-And last that I can think of, I don't hate my parents. I'm actually quite fond of them.

I think that when it comes to personality, I'm pretty much 50:50 when it comes to female and male "roles".

Aw, you sound adorable. A guy who enjoys books, obscure platforming games, and is actually interested in a long term relationship? And studying drama? I may be averse to marrying strange men that I meet on a gaming website, but I will friend you.

And yes, I have a feeling you would indeed be made my *****. ;P
I can live with being bitchified as long as I get a new book a week and a good quality hair drier...
Well, that post was very applicable to this thread. XD

But we should probably stop using this thread as a medium to converse about vaguely unrelated topics. 'Tis impolite to thread derail.
Very true. TOO PRIVATE MAIL!

Let's see.

- I loathe clothes shopping. And shoe shopping.
- I played with Lego and Meccano as a kid. I only ever asked for girly toys when I wanted to find out how they worked.
- I hate clubbing, dancing, socialising, parties with people I don't know... etc.
- I play video games.
- I'm studying IT, and I'd like to work as a programmer.

Yeah, I'm female.

In my case, the question should be, "what gender roles DO you ascribe to"?

Male

- I love my hair and like making sure it looks good. I also moisturize, shave every day, and occasionally in the past i've liked to wear womens perfume (I don't anymore though, I wear mens scents now) and nail polish (still do but rarely)

- I absolutely love shopping, particularly for clothes. I love clothes, I'm always spending most of my money on buying new clothes, and there have been times where i've left the house to go somewhere miles away and decided half way there im not happy with what im wearing, so I will go all the way back home to change. I often wear womens jewelry (if its not really obviously female).

- I have absolutely no interest in sports, and consider watching sports to be the most boring thing a person can do. Playing them is more tolerable, but only non-contact sports and the only thing I could honestly say I enjoy playing with any regularity is Tennis. The only "sport" ive ever enjoyed watching? Figure skating.

- I care a lot about my figure, but I do it through healthy eating rather than exercise.

- Although I also love Trance and House music, for the longest time I loved, and still love to a lesser extent, pop music; I was a huge fan of Christina Aguilera in particular up until her latest album which I hated. With regularity I still listen and happily sing along to some of the most ridiculously girly/gay songs imaginable.

- I love cooking and its one of my main interests.

- I'm studying Tourism and I plan to be a travel agent (seems this industry consists of 90% women, and my class seems to emulate that nicely too)

- I have some pretty girly manneurisms, can't really describe them succinctly here though.

- In a relationship although I'm comfortable taking on the typical male role I often have submissive wants and needs; nothing sexual, but I love the idea of being cuddled rather than doing the cuddling... that kind of thing.

- A lot of my friends are women and gay men.

- I love clubbing, socialising, and dancing.

---

There's a lot of other little things, but im not going to list everything. These are just ones that come to mind.

Although a lot of people think I'm not, I'm actually very straight. I'm comfortable in my sexuality and I'm also comfortable embracing my femininity. My father has gender dysphoria and is now living as a woman, so i feel that in a way means I was brought up by two women, or two minds that are female at least. I think that really contributed to how I turned out, and honestly I couldn't be happier or more confident in my personality. My father had worries I would turn out to have gender dysphoria too because of the way I was acting through high school (although statisticaly this is pretty close to impossible) but I'm quite happy and comfortable with my body, and I dont want a sex change so thats definitely not it.

I like to think of myself as a male lesbian :D
