Could they post on these forums considering they are bots? What if the they had Bender level intelligence?

I can't understand how this sentence makes sense.

Robo-cop, saving people from bad grammar.

I already live amongst your kind, human.
I will crush your puny planet into dust and snort it through a straw.
Or something equally as threatening.
But yeah, they probably could.

I don't think bots post on the forums, they get people for that, as people are cheaper and better at getting past captchas.

...

But, if they are posting, what does it matter? Unless they are the ones that see a thread, and post identical ones in quick succession, so we have half the page full of MLP, your avatar, or drowning threads.

In the time it takes to load this page in your average browser, two robots could have had hours worth of discussion and communication done.
I don't see why robots would choose such a slow media to communicate in.

I don't know if that's a subtle dig at the Escapist, since the page load is a bit slow, compared to most other websites. But yes, basically they wouldn't really need to use the Escapist as a platform.

However, if the robots were to use the Escapist, it would probably be to observe and subtly test humans. Which would explain the drowning threads - they want to know what makes us tick.

Also, obligatory xkcd what if article on the robot apocalypse [http://what-if.xkcd.com/5/] because it's even though, it's just remotely relevant but really amusing.

You can't tell them they're a robot, or they'll go on an existential rampage.
OT: Bots aren't going to be believed to be people in a long time, programming information is one thing, but emotions and stuff are easy to spot and pick out for us, and that kind of level of detail is difficult to program (I would assume).

They probably exist in some goverment facility or a mad scientist house. Well it's either that or they got hold of human skin to be among us.

Well, there's one thing that would happen for sure...

Humans would date/marry robots.

C'mon, a guy once married one of those pillows with an anime character on it!

I think war would happen more often, since there would be little civilian cost by the attackers.

They would have to pass Turing's test first, and we are still a long way to go...

This. If the course of history has taught us something is that there are no greater motivators to the advancement of science than war and sex. If robots reach enough of a reliability level, the biggest demand would be military robots and sex companions.
