Ok I just watched yhatzees MG2 review and this has been bugging me ever since, so lets go over some facts

Mario and Bowser

- mario and bowser are supposed to be mortal enemies
- they happily team up in paper mario
- in mario 64 DS (dont know about the original) bowser actually adresses Mario as "my friend"
- mario never does any serious harm to bowser, usually just throwing him into a sea of lava (and he's a fire breathing turtle so what harm is that gonna do?)
- as yhatzee points out, mario never takes any precaution against him repeating his actions

Mario and Peach

- Mario is Peaches plumber
- he is constantly resuing her
- however all peach ever does is bake him the occasional cake and kiss him on the head upon being rescued

Bowser and Peach

- Bowser is always kidnapping Peach (duh)
- Bowser was quite happy to marry Peach in Paper Mario and kept going on about it
- Peach was always quite sweet towards Bowser in their few dialoge scenes (again, in Paper Mario)

so those are the facts! personally, i think peach and bowser have something going on and mario is just an annoying git who keeps jumping in and breaking them up, and that peach and bowser are just humouring him perhaps under the suspicion that he may not be entirely "well"

well thats my theory, anyone got any funnier ones?

Mario is an honest guy, the Princess is a cock-teasing *****, and Bowser is her secret partner that Mario has to "save" her from everytime she's getting "Kidnapped"...and possibly "Raped".

All of the events are in the mind of Mario. These bizzare encounters reflect the decrepit state of his mind. Bowser represents his jealousy and his want for control. Peach is his want for a female companion and his need for a purpose. Luigi is a representation of the incestual thoughts that plague his mind. Wario is his anger and greed, while Yoshi is his childlike innocence. The Mushroom Kingdom is a place that needs him, this transitions to his desire to matter in the world. The turtles are his mind portraying his mundane, structured life. When Mario crushes them his mind lets go of that duty or responsibilty. The pipes are his want for a change in his pathetic life and a chance for something more. Him never getting the princess is his mind telling him that he can never achieve happiness.

That or he just wants some tail from the only human female and enjoys golfing with a giant turtle abomination.

It's not rape if she gives consent. It is, however, probably bestiality.

Mario is just one big Marvel vs Capcom without the corporate crossover.

Like any comic, characters that are covered by the same publisher occasionally have crossover, and former enemies will team up when it's right.

If I recall Bowser was being sarcastic when he refereed to Mario as 'friend'. In fact if I recall, the dialogue box even had the word in quotation marks to emphasize that fact.

Methinks that there has already been deeper thought regarding any Mario plot in this single topic, than there ever has been by anyone at Nintendo.

The koopa kids. There are all of two females (peach and daisy) in the Mario universe. Unless you count the various Toads. How do you think bowser had kids if it wasnt through his kidnapping victims?
