I was looking through another topic on the subject of coolest names. period. and my urge to change my own surname sparked again.

So what is the coolest surname you can think of?

You can ofc use any firstname to maximize the awesomeness of the surname!

If you want to help me find something that fits my firstname, it's Johnny, then that's also appreciated!

The first one that comes to my mind is "Snow" from GoT. Since I'm a bastard from the north irl.
"Blitzer", most known from CNN's Wolf Blitzer. Pretty awesome imo.
"Steel" is pretty solid aswell.
At some point I even thought about changing my name to "Johnny af Inzolence". Since I'm from Sweden it shouldn't be that hard to get approved.

Now it's your turn. FIRE AWAY!

I've always liked the sounds of "Goldman", "Kingsley", "Snyder", "Castle", "Armstrong", and "Shimura" (which is Japanese, btw).

"Goldman", because I'm just reminded of that Friends episode where Chandler and Phoebe are having that Seinfeld-like conversation about a potential superhero named "Gold Man". "Kingsley", because it just sounds cool, regal and reminds me of Kingsley Shacklebolt from Harry Potter. "Snyder" because of Zack Snyder. "Castle" because, again, it sound sregal and is the surname of some of my own fictional characters. "Armstrong" because it sounds powerful and reminds me of Alex Louis Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist (my second favourite character in that series). "Shimura" because of Takako Shimura, author of such great LGBT manga as Wandering Son and Sweet Blue Flowers.

Reminded me of the scene from mystery men:
Monica: What's your name?
Mr. Furious: D-do you mean my secret identity? ?Cause I couldn't?
Monica: No, I just mean your name.
Mr. Furious: My name. Ummm? wow. Okay? It's?Phoenix? Phoenix Dark? Dirk? Phoenix? Dark Dirk. I was christened Dirk Steel and then I changed it to Phoenix?
Monica: Forget about it. It's okay.
Mr. Furious: It's Roy! That's? that's my name. My? my real name's Roy.
Monica: Just. Be. Roy.
But I'd say the best surname I've heard of IRL would be Everett. Pretty superhero-esque

I'm rewatching FMA right now, and I agree, "Armstrong" is a pretty kickass surname!

I've always liked the name Mendoza. I think because it sounds like the name of the bad guy from a 1970s cop show.

One of the children my mum used to teach's surname was Dangerfield. If that was my surname, I'd definitely call my children Max.

Still, some kind of ridiculous pornstar surname would be brilliant, like Von Sexington.

Or Resident Evil 4. Which is like a 70s cop show.

OT: I though Kierkegaard was a pretty cool last name, but really surnames need first names to work properly.

I had a landlord with a surname of Decesare, that sounded pretty badass. Unfortunately they also turned out to have supervillain ambitions as the name suggests, and we didn't have a great relationship with them.

I'd say Chan, it's a pretty good surname and I've heard that people with Chan as their surname are really awesome people xD. But seriously, I'd have to go with either Kennedy, or Preston. Something about those names just sounds really good. Or Mr Lightning Bolt.

My best friend surname is Tempest, no really! His name is even more cooler due to the fact his first name is one of the popular first names used in the media, no I ain't going to reveal it since I'm not going to expose my mate names online (no he doesn't visit this site but still)!

There is a man who works for ILM with the name Greg Killmaster. Really [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0453228/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1]. Killmaster. I don't even like killing things in games, but how do you top that?

If you want a cool name, go read some mythology or ancient hystory, they have some pretty cool names there, like Tiberius
You can also buy a foreign dictionary, German and Latin ones should work
You can also mix random words together, and get gems such as Thundercock Soulpuncher
These are some cool(YMMV)names i can think of
Fafnir
Bahamut
Nero
Muramasa
Balmung
Durandal
Longinius
Masamune
Relius(this might be a bit biased, since he's my main in Blazblue)
Badguy(as a surname), altough you might be called a Guilty Gear fanboy if you use it along with Johnny(both are GG Chars)
Hellsing(as a last name)
Cain/Caim
Slayer
I don't know how many of these are actually names, but i thing they sound cool
If you are really bored, you can go look at this page

Have you heard of Max Fightmaster?
He is also a Staff Sergeant

I know someone whose surname is Dragon. I'm jelly.
Imagine having Dragon as a surname, and Slayer as a last name
Actually, i think Slayer would fit a lot of things, just think about the possibilities

I remember a cracked article on badass names. They were mostly badass famous names like Max Plank, Rip Torn and Louis Armstrong. But then came number one, the most badass name of anyone anywhere. A real person, named Staff Sergeant Max Fightmaster. So that's my choice, Fightmaster, a name so badass and cheesy that it would be deemed too stupid to be the surname of a Schwarzenegger character. Clearly the best name ever.

Damn, that's pretty much ninja'd me, well played.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess his name's Frank. That seems to work well with Tempest.

Not quite but it is a short name and does end with an K. All I can say is that several media related frictional characters had used this name aswell.

There was a Professor Snape at my university and he taught chemical engineering. Needless to say we all thought he had a cool surname.

It's also the name of an Argentine province famous for its wine, chocolate and ski tracks.
I like Mendizabal better. It's the name of the protagonist of Últimos Días de la Víctima, a methodical assassin planning a hit back in the Dictatorship days.

Deschain. Roland Deschain.

Someone as badass as the Gunslinger needs a suitably badass name, and his fits the bill.
