What kind of person are you in real life?

Self-explanatory thread title is self-explanatory...

Anyways, I'm pretty damn different than how I act on the internet. For example, I have zero social and conversational skills, I don't spout memes or jokingly screw around like how I do on the interwebz most of the time... I'm completely unsocial and avoid nearly all social situations possible; if unavoidable, I stay outside of the social circle and just sit back and bury my face in something else or watch others have fun socializing.

Oh, and I hold my pencil differently, don't type with the typical "asdfjkl;" format, yet maintain a WPM of about 60... I also can't naturally smile, so I can never force a smile for a photo without looking retarded, so all photos show me without smiling, pretty much. I can technically be a very nice person, but trying too hard to be nice or not an asshole negatively affects that.

I'm sort of the polar opposite in real life. I'm not how I am here because I have literally no social or conversational skills, so the internet you could say just takes on whatever persona I would have had I some decent social skills...

Well, I'm not a level-headed misanthrope IRL, that's for damn sure. I'm either an anti-social twat or a loud passive-aggressive twat. Just kind of a twat in general. Interesting, how I treat my status on The Escapist with more care than I do my status in real life. Although... the people on here are a lot cooler than the ones in MY life, so... there's that. I don't know. While I'm certainly not the OPPOSITE of what I am in real life, I'm not a very kindhearted person. In real life. I'm quite warm on the Internets.

I'm more or less the same as I am IRL. If anything, I'm nicer online.

Meh, I suppose in some ways I'm kinda the same. The way I speak makes its way into the way I type, and I'm generally pretty quiet in real life unless something/someone makes me speak. I could go days, if not weeks when I was in college without saying one word to people, but not because I was anti-social, I just like keeping to myself. I spent most of my free time in the library writing, reading and listening to music. It's the same here, I browse the internet and play games mainly by myself (and I play MMOs primarily), I just speak when I have reason to, like in this thread.

So, I guess I'm kinda the same.

A bit antisocial and I lack social skills. I'm also a bit selfish and think for myself. Besides that I'm pretty much the same here, nice, friendly, and fun to hang with when forced to interact.

Honestly just read and notice my post behavior if you want to know what I'm like in real life.

I'm very social, similar to how I am here, I suppose.
I have multiple groups of friends (Roommates, inter-mural teammates, MMA training partners, etc.), and hang out with them quite a bit.
I'm also just as sarcastic as I am here, and according to the people that send me angry PM's because I made them look like fools, I suppose that I am very, very, sarcastic.
Oh, and I am very sexy. Similar to here.

I think this sums it all up nicely...

And is there any song for a procrastinating, lazy guy who goes out of his way to avoid work?

I'm pretty much the same. Although I do tend to talk to myself every now and then...

But I doubt I'm the only one. Right?
...

Right?!

Nice, shy, girls think im cute for the most part but I lack the confidence to talk to them enough to pursue a relationship. I try to help whenever possible but whenever I try I feel unwanted. Other then my close male friends I am viewed as weak by most of my male counter parts and a pretentious asshole by others, mostly because they think that by avoiding conversation with the people who haven't been life time friends they think I think I'm better then them *I have been told this*. I tend to be loud spoken though on subjects I feel passionate about, philosophy, politics, poetry and music for example.

Of course not :p

Funny enough, I actually use more meme jokes in real life than I do anywhere on the internet.

More or less though, I don't see myself as being too much different online as I am in real life. I could get real sarcastic here but...I will spare everyone the pleasure this time.

I am the same person on the net as I am in life, I have a condition called alexythimia. It means I cant express or feel emotion, I cant read other peoples body language or perceive what they may be thinking. The world to me is a gray wash and I dont feel anything for any situation.

This doesn't mean Im a shut in. Im more than happy to go out clubbing or hang out with friends or meet new people. I do that everyday. It merely means I tend to stay away from situations that require emotion. Im logical and cant think any other way.I find it pleasant. I have no dreams, I have no imagination I do what I can do. Anyone else have this condition?

Hmm, i have some similarities and some differences between my personae. But for the most part, we are two very different people.

Internet

-Open to discussion.
-More confident.
-Can be passionate about what is most important to him, be it an opinion, a hobby, or a person.
-Will try to look at things as objectively as possible and see all sides of an argument.
-Will listen to people's problems and attempt to engage them in dealing with it.
-Has a curious nature. Eager to learn more about a person or about anything in general.
-Employs a diverse and eloquent lexicon in communication.
-Relatively friendly and outgoing.
-Has a more liberal minded view.
-Tries to employ some level of altruism.
-Is a lot more thoughtful, often appreciating things on a much deeper level and willing to express thoughts and feelings.
-Internet creates a level playing field, so we are all "equal". This makes me comfortable, relaxed, more sociable, and more open.
-Feels more 'attuned' to himself. Feels more comfortable, more 'natural'.

The real world

-Will often have a subjective view point.
-For the most part, self-interested and hedonistic.
-Not bothered about other people's issues unless it directly relates to me.
-Do not seek to engage anyone unless it's necessary.
-Short, brusque dialect that gets my point across.
-Unlikely to voice my opinion honestly, if at all.
-Prefers to be a social pariah.
-Suffers from an anxiety disorder, thus being extremely shy and preferring loneliness as opposed to interaction.
-Will analyse things on a deep level, but is unlikely to share his thoughts with anyone, even when asked.
-Fairly cynical and pessimistic point of view.
-We are not all equal in the real world. People make value judgements in the first thirty seconds of meeting someone and there is more to judge an individual on han just their communications alone. This makes the real world seem more hostile.
-Not as comfortable as my online persona. Feels awkward until i'm behind a keyboard. I'm not "me" in the real world. The real me is my other persona, trapped behind an endless stream of handles and avatars.

What we have in common

-We are honest.
-We procrastinate.
-We do not like to "face the music".
-We both have our perverted moments, such as making a naughty joke or comment. But we like to think everyone knows it's in good jest.
-We are good at listening when we give someone our focused attention. We can also make an attempt to genuinely empathise with people, even if we have not experienced their problem(s).
-We like to feel loved or appreciated, even if we do not show it.
-We do not treat our friendships as fickle.
-We believe in the virtue of character.
-We do not like to be controlled.

I say pretty much the same. Sure I differ a little. Maybe a bit more reserved, I use a lot more refrences but you would be able to tell it's me.

You know one of those sayings of how people are more comfortable around others when they're wearing masks? Well, I'm one of those people, and internet is my mask. The only problem is, I have a tendency to put on a Jason Voorhees mask when what I actually wanted to put on was a Jim Carrey one. Yeah, I know, I have a terribly messed up sense of humor. -sigh-

Lucky for me, Yahtzee is around, so yay for cynicism! XD

I'm kind of the same as I am here, except in real life I'm very shy and have bother talking to people.

Although once I do open up to others and start talking, it's hard to get me to shut up.

Other than that I'm very well polite and a nice guy. Although I will snap back if someone acts like a dick to me.

Depends on who you are to me.

I'm actually somewhat shy, but I constantly try to make jokes in order to both relax people, as well as make the first step towards a potential friendship.

When I'm with longterm friends, I fall between the bastard and asshole mark on the dickishness scale (long story short, after you do a dickish action, what do your friends call you? Jerk, bastard, asshole, dick and a few others means you're somewhat endearing in your dickishness. It's only once you hit prick that you're not fun to be around/your dickishness is somewhat hurtful). I'm also very talkative at that point and tend to be able to get my word in most of the time.

I like to think I'm an interesting, unique individual. Sadly the truth is I'm a sub-par father, a failing student and my personality is a copy-paste of millions of others. Yay for cynicism.
