Metal's always good to get the blood pumping, but I put trance up there as well. That and the more hardcore dance genres, like what they play in raves. Can't go past genres designed to make people move.

The latest cd by Clutch called From Beale Street To Oblivion has a few songs that get me pumped up. Bluesy gritty stoner rock, a winrar is Clutch.

Generally all kinds of metal. More specifically Slayer, if I hear a Slayer song come on I just can't stay still.

Anything with a high speed beat in it. But nothing bland and/or monotonous. Genres are a non issue for me, i tend to like a bit of every genre.

I find it depends on the game/what I'm doing.
It can vary from metal to techno to a bit of alternative (something about 'Bohemian Like You' makes me so good at CS).

I tend to find dance/rock crossovers do the trick very nicely for me. Mad Capsule Markets, Mindless Self Indulgence, Prodigy etc etc.

Also, Gogol Bordello: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJlGutqFqfg

Goa trance--mmmmmmm. I have a Happy Hardcore techno cd that is pure audio caffeine, and a CD by Edit of the Glitch Mob that makes me car-dance, even when I'm not in a car.

Oh, and mash-ups from Go Home Productions or Girl Talk. Brilliant.

Hard Rock, i.e: Aerosmith, Metal, Certain types of Rock.
I think style/genre is a bit wide, seeing as Rock has different types of songs. Such as Heart Shaped Box and Cherry Pie are the same genre (Rock), even though they sound totally different.

Any music but Country and Rap. I listen to a lot of Alternative, but one song that gets me pumped is Hyper Music by Muse.

I listen to a varied selection of music. For gaming, however, I usually enjoy the following...

Deathcore (i.e. Hardcore Death Metal, such as Born of Osiris, Bring Me The Horizon, Despised Icon, etc).

Hip Hop (only the good stuff, though... none of that new crap. Wu-Tang Clan, Jay-Z, Nas, and Hieroglyphics make up alot of my stuff).

Punk (old and new, like Dead Kennedys, Gallows, Dropkick Murphys).

And lets not forget the R&B stylings of Michael Jackson and Chris Brown. No joke.
