By fun I mean the game kept you totally immersed in the plot while the actual gameplay stayed really good throughout the game and the difficulty didnt make you want to stab your eyes out from frustration or boredom. It doesnt have to be all those things exactly just post an RPG that you played and think comes the closest out of all the ones you've played.

Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger.
I can't decide which I had more fun with or which was better.

Fallout 2 and 3 worked very well for me, but Shadow Hearts 2 takes the cake.

This is actually very hard, because even with high standards, I've still played a number of good and fun RPGs. That being said, several of those were released by the same company. So, just to encompass the full range of what I consider the most fun as in RPG, I'm just gonna put this gun to my head and shout...

PERSONA!!!

I'm not a big RPG guy at all (in general I just don't like JRPG's), but I loved Oblivion so much. I have over 150 hours on one of my characters.

Mother 3 has touched me in ways I never thought possible.
[sub]Quiet, you. You know what I meant. >_>[/sub]

Everything from
to
is handled with masterful design and stunning, yet simplistic art direction. The combat is so easy to use, and so incredibly satisfying to master.

My favorite RPG? Easily.

[sub][sub]Let it be known that I, the wimp that I am, still tear up towards the ending. ._.[/sub][/sub]

I think I'd pick "Tales of Symphonia"; I can't even begin to describe how immersed I was when I played that game. Even so, however, I find it impossible for me to play the game again because all the twists that gripped me the first time through are all "spoiled" now. With other games, this isn't usually a problem, but given how much emotional investment I had with this particular game, it is crippling for me...

Baldur's Gate II.

Easily the greatest RPG ever made, and probably the single best video game of all time.

Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time.
Yes it was at least semi-predictable, but The question wasn't for the most origional or shocking or suprising.
it was the most fun i have had on any game without a friend sitting next to me as P2 to take the piss out of.

Ohh it comes down to a three way tie between

Fire Emblem(GBA)
Mario & Luigi:Superstar Saga(GBA)
Super Robot Taisen OG Saga:Endless Frontier(DS)
All three were great amounts of fun, had an involving story, and moved me.
they are all easily in my list of favorite games.

Final Fantasy VIII. Man I love that game.

Fire Emblem? But there are people attacking each other with swords in that game! That's clearly too violent for you to play.
[sup]...I have a really good memory for incredibly useless details...[/sup]

Oh there are a lot of things that would set my dad off a lot more than the Weapons.

Remember the Druid class?
One of my favorite units...but i dared not use Camus while around my dad.
EDIT: Oh and Fire Emblem is small time compared to SRT OG Saga:EF.
Even the female Monsters/Opponents had racks in that game.
Still was loads of fun.
