Perhaps it would be interesting to record here, as an extension of this thread [https://v1.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.1023756-What-games-are-you-playing?page=34] if nothing else.

My latest wasn?t really anything special, but

Oh, jeez! I have been playing so much Switch, that it's been a long time since I last played a game with achievements or trophies. I think it was Spyro: Reignited Party like it's 2024 trophy.

I think my last trophy was something like "The Path to the Goddess" from RE2: Remake. Making slow progress through this because I'm a wimp.

I dunno, it was probably something dull like "Get to X point in the story" or whatever.

[HEADING=3]The Division 2[/HEADING]
Project Management
Complete a project for both the Theater and Campus settlements.
Yep, just as I thought

See, a lot of a achievements are just dead boring. They aren't achievements, they're glorified milestones. The way I see it, achievements should be something interesting, like "Hey, here is a fun way to play this game. Complete X level doing only Y, or without doing Z". Thats an achievement. And it introduces a heap of replayability, too.

I recently had an urge to play some Halo again recently, and I thought that I would mix it up.

[HEADING=3]Halo: The Master Chief Collection[/HEADING]
Leave It Where It Lay
Halo CE: Complete Two Betrayals on Legendary difficulty without picking up a new weapon.
What this means for the game is that you can only use a plasma pistol, shotgun, grenades, and vehicles. That sounds like fun, and it was. That deserves an achievement.

The only simple ones that I accept are the "Complete the game" ones, especially when specific difficulties are involved.

The Limits of the Possible
Collect all trophies
Well it isn't really my latest trophy, but I did earn it a week and a half ago so I'm just showing it off a bit here.

It took me roughly two years to get through The Witcher 3 because playing the game was tiring, as I was afraid I'd miss things and I didn't want to play with a guide all the time, I'd read up on quests and see if completing them didn't break something down the line and then play. I hate missables in these kinds of games.

As for my actual latest trophy;

[HEADING=3]Horizon Chase Turbo's[/HEADING]
Driver from Ipanema
Obtain 100% completion in Brazil Cup

I?m still missing some in Midgard around the lake. It just might be the last game I search for those kinds of tedious collectibles for. Other than perhaps Uncharted 4/Lost Legacy. Those are at least uniquely rendered treasures.

I enjoyed it for the exploration. Of the 51 ravens I found 47 naturally, had to look up the final 4. Felt a bit cheated to find out...

... ravens can show up in valkyrie chambers as well. Go figure.

Anyway, just got Platinum for God of War (2018). Officially Platted all 7 games in the series now!

From Steins; Gate:

25% CG Achievement:
Unlocked 25 % of CGs.

A visit to an achievement guide reveals that once I reach an ending depending on what scenes I've encountered in the game there will be artwork in an Extras-option; apparently I've gotten 25 % of these images.

A delightful game to play through. I really enjoyed seeing the flow charts for chapters, making it easier to try and plan out story routes.

I'm a completionist, so it was only a matter of time before I got it... haven't been playing much either, but the side quests in this DLC have been good so far... main story... not so much... -.-

I've never been one for chasing Achievements, but with over a thousand hours in PUBG, I'm bound to unlock a few by accident. 86% of them by accident, as it happens. The latest was 'Fast and Furious' - killing 10 people by hitting them with vehicles. And I took this one out in style:

Yeah, I'm hoping the final part of the DLC actually provides a better main plot other then "Get out of Elysium/Hades" and actually justify how/why we're in the pre-sunken Atlantis. Oh, and apparently the Modern Day plot is gonna get a bombshell of some sort(I'm guessing it's gonna be revealed that Alethia is actually manipulating you to help the ISU and/or the entire Present day is and has always been a simulation).

Anyway, we'll find out in a couple days.

Haven't finished ep2 yet because the plotline away from the sidequests (and resulting reunions, spoiler alert) struck me as terribly contrived/boring, and colour blindness made my initial attempts to play it unenjoyable... :/
