Why do you think that your interpretation should be paramount. Why is your view on what is racist and anti feminist more important than anyone else's. This site is a business and it cannot just cater to what you want hear and you not the moral arbiter of the world. If you want set editorial policy and only have things that you agree with, then form your own site or accept that you view is your own and is no more valid than anyone else's. These forums exist to generate page views and are not the vanguard of the revolution. Does it ever occur to you what you say other people might find offensive and should be censored. This site ignores their attempt to be moral arbiters just as much as it ignores yours. There are rules about offensive content and they are enforced but that does not mean things that you disagree with get banned.Lil devils x said:Sexism, racism and bigotry, however, should not be acceptable in any community that considers itself to be "inclusive" however. Unless this is the KKK website, I see no reason it should be, nor should people think that this is stormfront. That is why there is a time and place for things. Articles for racism on campus belong in Religion and politics.. The place for game industry discussion is not " what is an SWJ?" or " this chic slept with people and iz bad so we are going to keep talking about her years later" Those have nothing to do with gaming.
So what you are saying is they should not ask people what they want to see more of or less of because they will actually tell them and then you will then tell everyone who answers that you disagree with they should not ask for more of or less of something because it cannot cater to what they want to hear? Gotcha.. Is that all you have to say on the subject so we can move along now since you seem to think you are now the escapist spokesperson?albino boo said:Why do you think that your interpretation should be paramount. Yea , I think it would have to be like this:Grouchy Imp said:Yeah, I think you're right. It'd need breaking up by genre otherwise it'd be too cluttered, but a separate forum tab that was then sub-divided into 'Racing', 'FPS', 'Platformer' etc would allow people to find what they were after pretty handily. Even if it were simply links to various upload channelsLil devils x said:It would be cool to have maybe a resource for custom content/ mods for different games.. maybe even if they had it by genre since there are too many games and resources take up space. I used to get all kinds of maps from different sources for different games, even just linking the sources rather than actually having them uploaded would be good to help consolidate them. Links to mods/ maps custom content for games would be nice to have. Maybe a "Game Mods" section with different sub sections for genres? That reminds me.. I have like several boxes of discs and HD's full of custom content for games in my closet..Grouchy Imp said:>snip<it'd serve as a one-stop-shop for additional content. You'd need separate tabs for PC and consoles, too, given the proliferation of the PC modding community.

Please take any arguments to PMs; this is deviating somewhat from the thread's original purpose.Lil devils x said:(Snip).
THIS.s0denone said:I would just LOVE if people here were able to simply accept that not everyone thought like them, regardless of where they are sitting. Oftentimes it feels as if this forum is completely devoid of normalcy and is instead wholly populated by fanatics and rabid fans of a political side, an agenda or a "cause".
I would love there to be thicker skin, a more mature mindset and less reporting.
I would love a lot of the users here to grow up and stop expecting to be catered to all the time.
I would love it if people would be able "agree to disagree" like what happens time and time again in real life, instead of being so stubborn and annoying as to refuse to do that.
I would love there to be a lot less quote-mining and for the people doing it to get banned.
I would love the obvious sock-puppet/alternate accounts to be banned. Joined 3 days ago but you have 50 posts all in GID? Get the fuck out.
EDIT:
I would add that I think including something like recieving a warning point for a frivolous report would help. A lot of people are reporting posts because they simply disagree with them or feel personally offended by a differing viewpoint. It is massively stupid and has no place on a board supposedly not only inhabited by people in their teens.
Loading Ready Run has been doing stuff ever since they left. There are like 60 feed dumps since they left. The only thing they stopped was the weekly sketch they published here and unskippable. They also have started a bunch of new stuff since they left, like daily streaming of games, new podcasts, and the like. You should check out their actual website and their youtube channel.Anti-American Eagle said:Quizzes. More Quizzes. All the Quizzes... and for Loading Ready Run to return. I know Loading Ready Run is over, but I can dream of them returning in some capacity. *eyes feed dump*
+1 for galleries instead of videos for Cosplay ( * runs up and edits my list to add Cosplay*) ~Thanks.Callate said:I would like to go two weeks without seeing a spelling error, a headline that contradicted the content or vice-versa, a dangling tag, a broken link, an article with connected forum topic but no way to reach it... Basically, I would like to believe that someone other than the author reads articles before they reach the site. I try not to be all grammar-nazi, really I do, and I understand both that mistakes and typos happen and that I've made the occasional error in my own posts (though I do try to re-read and correct myself.)
...But I'm also not being paid for posting in forums, so...
I think most of the cosplay-related articles would be better served by articles with attached galleries rather than videos, but YMMV.
It seems as though a lot of the weekly content doesn't appear in the feed, or at least not regularly. So unless you're actually on the lookout for it, or regularly browse through the week schedule banner at the bottom of the page, you're missing some of the best stuff.
And for the fiftieth time or so, bring back the Film Festival. I know the last one was a bit of a wreck, what with creators being unable to fulfill their weekly obligations and so on, but just do it. Don't even offer a weekly spot as the prize if it's an issue; maybe someone could make a monthly rather than a weekly offering, or it could even just get Escapist viewers talking more about what they'd actually like to see on the site. Find a sponsor who's willing to pony up a gift card from Barnes & Noble or GameStop or Amazon; it doesn't even have to cost the Escapist much more than some time and server space.
Oh yeah! I know some times the escapist does interviews or similar content that kind of has to be in a video, but can we also get a gallery attached to those stories of the cosplay in question?Lil devils x said:+1 for galleries instead of videos for Cosplay ( * runs up and edits my list to add Cosplay*) ~Thanks.Callate said:I would like to go two weeks without seeing a spelling error, a headline that contradicted the content or vice-versa, a dangling tag, a broken link, an article with connected forum topic but no way to reach it...
