Everyone is talking about the scanning minigame (and rightfully so), but you really think that's all Yahtzee will mention? I have three words for you:

1) Chest
2) High
3) Walls

Yeah, I'm calling it. See you guys on Wednesday for the I-told-you-so.

He once (or repeatedly) said a game must stand on its single player experience; and he tends to do mutli-plateformers. Therefore he will either hate, or not even bother with MAG. I figiure it will be to latter. FF or White Knight, ha ha ha. If he does either one, he'll need a holiday for therapy. As for Gears of War in space with strippers (ME2) chest high walls is a good call for the reveiw. or He'll trick us and talk about the story 0_o Nah! In ME1 you drive around on endless tracks of planets that start to look the same. In ME2 you scan planets that start to look the same. I think Yahtzee will notice this for sure.

Yahtzee hates practically everything. The man is a walking, talking hate robot.

I'm expecting nothing less than his rant on EA and BioWare for not being innovative enough. Why do you think I gave up on watching his so-called "reviews" a long time ago?
Yeah, I would of done that too but sometimes he reviews a game that I absolutely don't like so I agree with him on it
Well, I don't think he genuinely hates everything. He continues to be a very harsh "critic" because he has acquired a status among gamers as the moody grumpy reviewer who likes to break down practically anything. He would probably lose a lot of his core audience if he started to act all respectful towards really good games.

His hate just isn't justified anymore, that's all I'm saying. And that's mainly the reason why I'm not watching his rant videos anymore.

If I want to watch someone get angry over games that really deserve it, I'll watch AVGN. That guy has some credibility, at least.

Does it matter? We watch his reviews for their entertainment value, not their truthyness.

Plus you have to remember he's not an actual real game critic (I mean I suppose anyone could be a critic, make a video and critique on something) and yes he actually seems to hate just about everything, also I too LOVE AVGN, he actually reviews terrible games

Well Yahtzee has only come up with a few reviews I remember being positive. Of them he recanted one (Grand Theft Auto IV) later on, in light of the much superior Saint's Row 2.

That said, Mass Effect 2 isn't a pure shooter, and what shooter elements it has rely heavily on the whole "Chest high walls" thing. It's also dialogue heavy and that is something that has gotten him to pan games before, since he REALLY hates lengthy bits of character development and storytelling.

In short, I'll be surprised if it he likes it, because it doesn't seem like his kind of game on paper... we could be surprised though.

I expect him to go into his normal rants, and then make contridictory claims about a story that doesn't make any sense, and too much dialogue and exposition which he shut off/ignored/made sandwiches during, perhaps explaining the first point. I anticipate he'll pan the tiny number of remaining RPG elements, call the shooting aspects derivitive chest high wall fests (as mentioned), and then slam the minigame.

He might throw us a curveball, but I'm not holding my breath here. Especially seeing as I think this game deserves a lot more criticism than it has gotten (though in an opposite direction in my case, since I think it needed a lot more stats, gear, customization, and RPG aspects).

Oh yes.. and to end this ramble...

I would expect Yahtzee to also complain about his fish in the captain's cabin dying, because he didn't get far enough for his hawt secretary/ensign to feed them for him. But then again buying virtual fish, never mind checking on them enough to notice they died, would imply he has a soul... and this is Yahtzee we're talking about. :p

I doubt he even bothered to recruit Boo as his cabin boy.

He's gonna hate Dante's Inferno, Final Fantasy 13.

He's gonna LIKE Bad Company 2.
...Your either joking or serious. Most likely joking, but if serious you are a mad man.

OT: like a lot of other people said, Scanning. Even though I like it, hes gonna hate it.
That prediction is so beautiful if you're being serious I will worship you whether you're right or not.

Anyway, he'll probably go on a rant about the mining game and how they changed combat but worship all the sexual stuff.

I think he'll like it more than the first, but that's a pretty iffy thought.

Mass Effect 2 is an amazing game but there's plenty of warts so he won't be stuck for material.

The whole way the story is laid out is kind of weird for one thing. It works, but the fact that your collecting and meeting every members needs for much of the story...Wasn't there a whole big bugs killing all humans thing going on and we're dealing with Krogan puberty?!

Apart from that there's obviously the mini games such as scanning, the tacked on alignment system and some other problems I'm sure he'll latch onto. Ultimately I think he'll say it's an improvement simply because it's not really an RPG anymore.

On the contrary. I think he's one of the few honest reviewers left.

I actually don't think he will hate it. I'm not saying this because of my own personal bias, but because in a review. (Manhunt I think) He sort of defends Mass Effect by saying that you shouldn't judge it as a sex filled porno without acutally playing it.

Scanning, the lack of different weapons and loyalty missions. I hated the loyalty missions but I had to do them because I didn't want my crew to die. :/

It's a foolish venture to try and predict what he will and won 't review. Namely due to the assfucking Australia gets with release dates and banning M rated titles, but also due to the fact there's rather a lot of big titles out recently, like Bioshock 2, Dante's Inferno and many more.

If he is doing ME2, however, he's most likely going to attack the party "loyalty" system or the ending.

Oh, it's worth pointing out that from the experiences I've had and numerous friends who's finished the game have told me, that Loyality doesn't affect the chances at the endgame at all. Don't quote me on that mind

He's obviously not going to like the scanning mini-game, but I think he will also take the piss out of Jack...

Yahtzee is gonna read this and say "Hey, i'm going to say exactly the opposite of what these people think. Or becuase we think that he'll just say what he'll say normally and then my head will start to hurt.
