I tragically got dumped by the woman I've been dating for a few years and its left me with something of a self esteem problem. So i've the last month have been listening to male pick me up songs:

Lots of great new stuff out at the moment.

A duo of the amazing Laura Marling and producer Mike Lindsay. Really solid album that needs an attentive listen, it's subtly brilliant.

New stuff from A 2000s 'I make any type of music i'd like too thanks' kind of band. They're very fun.

A new band formed from a few bands I love down to the ground. Could be album of the year for me.

No they're not from the 60s, but they fucking sound like they are.

Been jamming Snarky Puppy a lot this last week or so, absolutely adore their brand of jazz.

Been on that whole kind of neo-jazzfunk vibe in general, this is another from a different ensemble that just absolutely resonated with me right from the start.

It's been a month or so since I beat The Witcher 3 but I keep finding myself coming back to this song from it. It's definitely my favourite single moment in the game, when everything stops and Geralt just sits and listens to a bard in a pub. Gorgeous stuff.

Interpol, lots and lots of Interpol.

I'd post a video of their song 'Specialist' but as of like, yesterday, all videos of it have been blocked, though I suspect it was by youtube copyright trolls rather than by the actual owners of the song.

So here is one of their newest songs instead:

I really love how Interpol have managed to stay true to their sound without ever feeling stagnant, and that I still have never not loved anything they have made. One of my most favorite bands.

I've come across Jack Stauber from an Adult Swim bumper, and fell in love with his animations and his music. He has a new album now.

If you don't want to listen to the whole 9 min song, at least listen to 5:50-7:35, it's easily one of my favorite parts in any of her songs.

Acoustic Rap, enough said.

The 1975?s Love It If We Made It. It?s like a poetic stream of consciousness about current affairs and a mildly good chorus.

I just discovered Postmodern Jukebox over the past couple weeks that cover hit songs in an old-school style of like the 20s or 40s.
