I need a new way of not doing work in study hall. Anyone know any good games for my crappy laptop? It can't require internet.

Oh...

I say go to GoG.com, and buy Fallout 1+2.

That should keep you entertained.

Hrm I will avoid saying emulators, even though emulators are a catch all when not presented with system specs of the top, or the style of games you would prefer.

EDIT: Ehh, best bet.. look at the year the top was made. Then subtract one year, then look up games made in that year.

Why not sleep? That's what I always used to use Study Halls for.

More on topic... I'd say an older, but still great, game in a genre that you like.

Oh...
Why not? You can still play offline singleplayer and have plenty of fun!

I recommend Minecraft.
Yeah, but it needs a pretty beefy PC to play it.
Don't let the graphics fool you, this game is a beast to run.

Ok, here's a crazy idea. You MIGHT get thrown into a mental institution for such crazy inanity, but here goes: Why don't you try STUDYING in study hall? Eh? Eh?

You know, give that whole 'education' thing a try? Maybe a future? How 'bout it? There's plenty of time after school to waste on videogames.

Sadly, I don't quite think so =( after school and university i don't think i get to play a tenth of all the games I want to. But yeah, I used my study hall for studying in any case...and detentions. Believe it or not!

OP: Torchlight if you like diablo type rpg's, that even has a 'netbook mode' if i'm not mistaken, I also just started playing Kings bounty: armored princess, if you like those old school chessboard turn-based rpg. Warcraft III has always, always been a favourite.

+1 on emulators also, they are so easy to get a hold of these days and are a great way to get some aggression out. Hope your keyboard is quiet tho, and they are easy to minimize/close.

If you like FPS's, then there's just too damn many to choose from, and is more limited by how crappy exactly your laptop is

Studying is for suckers, you only need to look over your notes for 5-10 minutes before a test to ace it. I graduated from Purdue with highest distinction (3.9 GPA) by never reading a textbook, never studying, and only doing homework that was graded. If you just pay attention in class and take good notes, tests are super easy.

The original "Driver"?
Great game. Really old...
Original Starcraft? If you like RTS games...
Erm.
You said "crappy" laptop, so I don't really know what else.
I have a 160 gig portable harddrive that I keep with me, so when I'm bored at school I play games like GTA San Andreas, Warcraft III, Simcity 3000, etc...
