What's the difference between getting a warning and being put on probation?

A probation counts as a Moderator action and keeps you from getting associated Matrix themed badges.

I think being on probation means every post you make finds its way onto the Mod Queue, while a warning is just a warning. Or at least, that's what I imagine it as

Imagine it as an electronic tag that tracks you, basically.
