Wow, you sir completely missed the point of this thread, congratulations.
I believe his point was to say what's the point of bringing this up when there are so many threads asking the exact same thing over and over again.

More OT: It's mainly because it's an extremely exploitative business strategy and it gives other publishers and developers the same idea because they make tons of money for it. Yes, I know I don't have to pay for it, but people are entitled to their own opinions and dislikes towards things. For example, I don't like racist people even though I've never been insulted for my race. I'm not affected by racists at all, but I still dislike them because what they do seems wrong to me, just as exploiting the consumer for every last penny they can grab seems wrong to me.
Exactly. At this stage, not only do I dislike the direction of Activision's business strategy, I wish that as many people as possible would stop buying the games simply out of slavish brand loyalty. If people just go on buying more and more of the same dumbed-down shit whilst the quality and freedom of gaming decreases, then it will be bad for games as a whole. It's amongst the biggest cash cow franchises out there, and thus a trend-setter. Activision can just afford to do whatever it likes with COD and not listen to gamers' constructive criticism as long as it can appeal to the mass-market.
