Brave New World.

There has been so many Orwellian inspired dystopias it's really interesting to see one that is a complete antithesis of 1984.

Metro 2033 or something similar... I'm not too sure on what 'dystopian' covers.
By definition a society so bad it cannot realistically happen, like the opposite of a utopia. Generally a really unpleasant world.

Ah gotcha.

So then things like Metro, Fallout as I love the apocalyptic scenario.

But also Warhammer 40,000 with the Imperium. Gotta love god emperors!

If the list from wikipedia about games with a dystopian world is allowed to be trusted, I would say:

American McGee's Alice
Beyond Good and Evil
Half Life 2

What's that new one coming out? Enslaved or something? You play as a guy named monkey teamed up with some redhead that puts a slave helmet on your and tells you to save her. I like that one. It's all green and pretty. The landscape looks beautiful. I like society, but I'd love to live in a world like that.

Oh you uneducated cultureless friends and lovers.
What kind of answer could anybody only give to this question except Blade Runner.

In games.. I dunno, Bioshock was nice, Silent Hill is not really dystopian if you see it as purgatory, I say Mushroom Kingdom.

Seriously, two factions in constant battle with a plumber being the ultimate savior.
WTF MAN? Mushroom Kingdom all the way.

(that is, the video game Mushroom Kingdom, not the movie version which ironically tried to rip off Blade Runner as much as one could)

Half-life 2
Half-life is not distopian. Half-life is set in '98. Half-life 2 is in the distopian future.

Ghost in the shell is a good one, but I would have to say Earth, post World War Terminus in Do Androids dream of electric sheep?
