Hey everyone, post your favourite video game/games of all time. I'd rather people resist in crtisising someone else's favourite games, but if they must then i will silently lol. Anyway here are my all time favourites (in order);
Deus Ex (I LOVE THIS GAME)
Killer 7 (I LOVE THIS GAME ALSO)
Operation Flashpoint (etc)
Dreamfall: The Lonmgest Journey (etc, etc)
Vampires: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (I wonder if i chose the right sister)
Knights of the Old Republic (the first one obviously, though i still reckon the second was still decent)
Psychonauts (no i'm not just saying that, i did actually enjoy it alot)
Sam & Max (Series 1 in particular, seeming as whilst series 2 did finally allow you to run it did have some crappy moments, such as the homoerotic vampire one)

I keep a Notepad text file around for just such an occasion:

1. Rome: Total War
2. Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
3. Rise of Nations
4. Tropico
5. Hearts of Iron II
6. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
7. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
8. Railroad Tycoon II
9. Mount & Blade
10. Empire: Total War

Empire debuted at #2 but I dropped it to #10 pending the fix to the naval AI and campaign crashbugs. If it doesn't get those fixes I'll drop it further, if it does get them I'll put it back just behind Rome.

'Private Eye'. Yes it was made in 1997, but the story is brilliant, the main character is hillariously drypan and it plays like an interactive graphic novel. The animation sequences are fantastic and reward you fittingly after using your brainpower to solve a couple of murders while looking for a missing person.

It's based on Raymond Chandler's Phillip Marlowe novel 'The Little Sister'.

I really have no idea. So I'm going with a tie between KotOR, The Neverhood, and maybe Silent Thunder.

'system shock 2 makes deus ex look like a half assed, bargain bin knockoff.'

I'm afraid you've started one of my rants now. Whilst system shock 2 is a really great game there's no way i'd ever call it better than deus ex. Deus Ex is almost completely nonlinear, it's one of the few games where you constantly make choices that actually affect the story in large ways. SS2 really more gives you the ability to explore the ship, but still in a fairly linear fashion. It also sucessfully combines elements of FPS and RPG, which SS2 does admitably do also. No matter what i say to defend Deus ex it's going to sound like i'm trying to be negative about SS2, but i'm not, i love SS2. The storyline of Deus Ex and the cyberpunk setting are also one of the most sucessful in a game i've ever played. SS2 had a great atmosphere, but a pretty darn basic story. And also spawning a new group of enemies every couple of minutes doesn't exactly make advanced or entertaining AI mechanics.

I am especially picky about which games deserve to be in my top 5.

In order:

Okami - an excellent 3rd person game with good fighting mechanics, good gameplay mechanics and original. The camera gets confusing though, because it is inverted
Spartan: Total Warrior - an exellent 3rd person fighter with puzzle aspects
God Of War II - one of the hardcorest fighters ever
Assassin's Creed - a beautiful and innovative experience, even if it is only one great game over and over and over in different flavours
Saints Row 2 - Just stupid, simple fun.

I didn't mention some of my favourites like Flower,flOw (which actually has a great control system, just noone realises it)and Linger in Shadows, because they are more experiences than games.

I also didn't mention my favourite online indies, like Throw me!, Fancy Pants World 2: Adventure 2, Shift 3 and Armed With Wings 2. Well, I guess I did.

SSBB should get a mention, even if only because I over hyped about it to the degree that I wanted it like a fish wants water...
