What's your favourite board game or card game? [Last Night On Earth review included]

I'm after a new board game to play after deciding to have a break from Risk and Catan. Any suggestions on what is good?

I have my eye on Dominion and also Last Night on Earth.

Space Hulk and Arkham Horror are two good ones. As far as card games go, I'm partial to Magic, but if you want something more traditional I'd suggest Rummy.

I play real games of cards and the board games. Not based off of games, games. I know risk has comp games but they were off the board game itself, so nah.

I've read and watched a few reviews on Arkham Horror and a lot of them have the opinion that you basically never win the game and a lot of the stuff you do in it before you reach the main boss seems to not have any affect.

Are they fair comments or just people complaining about nothing?

Scrabble. not much else to say, just a simple, fun game when you can get enough people to play.
for card games, I'll go with blackjack, despite the fact that playing it lost me $300 in a casino.

Slamwich. It's a card game about stacking cards that look like bread, and if you stack 2 of the same card or a card in between two of the same card, you slam the deck with your hand as hard as you can. At the end of the school year, we convinced our (kinda stuck-up) math teacher to play, and she got REALLY into it.
Either that or Phase 10. My friends and I used to play that on a daily basis during study hall.

Balderdash [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balderdash] blew every board game I've ever played out of the water when I played it.

To clarify, I've played Monopoly, Life, Risk, Settlers of Catan, the Gargoyles boardgame, the Lion King boardgame, and loads of others I've forgotten about.

None of them even compare to the magnificence of Balderdash [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balderdash]. With the right group of people, I would pick this game over any video game, any day. I cannot recommend it enough.

Edit: I've also played War on Terror [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_on_Terror_%28game%29], which is the second best board game I've ever played. Still doesn't compare, though.

Last Night on Earth turned out to be a great fun game. Anyone that loves a good B-grade zombie movie trope filled game will love this.
