Is there something that pisses you off when people say whether it ignorant, bigoted, or just plain stupid?

For me, nothing annoys me more when people claim that women who wear suggestive clothing are "asking" to get raped, usually used as a means of assuaging blame from a rapist. This argument is like saying "Hey that homeless person looks hungry, I am going to force several sandwiches down their throat". There is no justification for rape, EVER.

"Is it just me, or.../Am I the only one who..."

Besides the answer being a resounding "fuck no," sentences would be much shorter without these phrases and still get the message across.

I get really irritated when people state their opinions as fact. For instance, if I'mdiscussing a movie with someone, and they say "That movie was shit." It's something just about everyone does, but it just gets to me. I do my best to say "I think that movie was shit" or "That movie was shit, in my opinion." It's a small thing, but it really bugs me.

That, and when people say "I could care less."

It's couldn't, dammit! Couldn't!

Back in my day, people didn't call things they liked shit. Today the youth screams "that was the shit!" and it sounds stupid every time.

And it's so retarded.

Just one word really does it to me. "Irregardless..." THAT IS NOT A WORD. Or, it shouldn't be, if it is.
There was an english teacher at my high school who said that "word' in front of his AP class, they never let him forget it

Ubuntu is only for people who don't know how to use Linux

A vocal minority in the Linux community seem to believe this, probably because the OS does attract a lot of newbie users. That doesn't mean that programmers/tinkerers don't use it though.

"All X games are for idiots/sheep/the same thing/blah blah blah blah".

This has always irked me greatly. I'm sorry that you don't like Call of Duty or Madden/FIFA but calling each game in the series the same thing as the last game (but just new maps or a roster update respectively) is just ludicrous. I could take any beloved series and make the same blanket statement if I just boiled every game down to it's foundation too.

There are plenty of legit reasons to hate whatever game you want but "It's all the same" is just a stupid (and untrue) reason.

"It's all good."

No. No, it is NOT all good. Some of it is definitely crap. I loath this phrase and would see it purged from the lexicon of humanity.

One slice of pizza left. I'm eyeballing it. Then...
"Hey, do you mind if I take the last slice?"

You bastard.

People who used the phrase "reach out" when describing how they talk to someone. I feel it's abused in business settings. For example, "I reached out to Karen in accounting, and she told me she was going to reach out to Robert over at Smathers & O'Houlihan about those reports. In the meantime, I'll reach out to James, and I'll reach out to Eleanor, and why don't you put together an email to reach out to Greg in Tucson." That may seem absurd, but I've worked with people who use it about 10 times in a conversation. Also, most of the people who use it strike me as insufferably smug, so I tend to associate anyone who says it, not matter how much I like them otherwise, with those terrible people.

In context of when some one says something like "I do not approve of homosexuality" to use the most common example and I respond with something along the lines of how fucking absurd that is and i get something about how I do not respect the right to their free speech or am censoring them.

No I am just calling you an idiot, by all means keep saying idiotic things and I will keep stating you are an idiot, that is not censorship you bloody moron.

Also "I could care less" it is I could not care less I could care less if you shot my dog for instance in fact i would care very much if you did, I would care less about the new "twilight" movie of which I could not care less about

The older generation people who can't use the internet or other gadgets say "but I think they are moving the technologies too fast".
No you're either slow to learn or can't be bother to learn it. Yes ok I understand that your life is too busy to get a chance to learn about it but people always find a way to learn it despite how fratic their lives can get and being old isn't an excuse.

My biggest one is related to sports. I HATE it when sports announcers, coaches and players utter the phrase "We control our own destiny." No you freaking don't! If you did, there wouldn't be a game to determine the outcome! You would just decide to win and it would happen. It's not like you can go out to the other team and say "Hey guys, I know you really want to win, but since we control our own destiny, you can't. Hope you enjoy the off season!"
