Where do I install the Conversion Pack for Star Wars Battlefront II (steam copy)?

I know I should probably be asking this on the steam forums but I'm apparently in que for my account to be activated so I'll give it a shot and ask here.

Anyway, I just got Star Wars Battlefront II on steam and I'm having trouble installing the conversion pack (a highly popular mod, for those of you who don't know). I came here to ask where I should be installing it. By default the installer sends it to:

C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData

But I don't think that is the correct location seeing as I did that before and it didn't work and that because I got the game on steam it's located in the steam folder. I understand that most people won't even know what I'm talking about, but I'm hoping that there is at least one knowledgeable guy/girl here on the Escapist who recently bought it and would like to help.

Steam will probably install the game to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\star wars battlefront ii. So you should look for something like that. The directory structure underneath it should be identical to the regular game install, so there should be a "GameData" directory in there. I'd try installing it there.

Yeah I just tried installing it directly into the star wars battlefront ii folder and that didn't work, idk why I didn't just try the gamedata folder first... Oh well, I'll get started on that tomorrow. thanks for info btw.

Steam installs things to a different location and in a different manner (i.e. the folders are different) than traditional installs.

I'm not sure if you can install the conversion pack; try looking for an answer on Google.

Steam's programs, by the way, are in C:/Program Files(x86)/Steam/ (somewhere in here, I haven't yet figured out how this shit is organized. Has anyone?)

There's different folders depending on whether it uses steamworks or whether it's just sold through the store.

Scratch that, I just noticed that Left 4 Dead 2 is in the folder that I thought was reserved for non-steamworks games. And here I thought I had it figured out...

OT: Battlefront II should be stored in your Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common folder. I Can't help you beyond that with installing the mod, though, because I don't know how this particular mod works.
