It's from Terminator. It's the most iconic and well known. Also the reason it catch on is what happens after he says. Cause he really comes back.

No one's quoting the Running Man when they say that. He may have said it within the context of a conversation, but the distinct way he said it in both Terminator films stands out, which is why it became a catchphrase. Also, I cringed when John Connor said it in the new McG film. Just tacky.

Edit: it's also 3 very innocuous little words, it's not like they weren't spoken in thousands of movies before Running Man. Also, Running Man sucked.

When I say it I tend to Add "With weapons" from an old fairly odd parents episode

Yes, and in the span of atleat 15 centuries, I'm pretty sure multiple people have before him.

But yes, like one guy said.

Popularity > Where he said it first

Um the Terminator was release in 1984, he utters the line to the sergeant behind the desk of the police station.

The running man was released in 1987, not sure when he utters it but it was probably an in-joke/ homage to his saying it in the Terminator.

So yeah it came from the Terminator.

Terminator was the much more popular movie. It's what got the qoute out into the public so I would assume the qoute came from it.

I love arnold and the terminator films but I have no idea what the running man is,
I imagine many are like me and would always think of the Terminator qoute, Although I never actually say it myself...
