You know that moment when you suddenly discover a new thing that's so amazing, so beautiful, so unbelievably AWESOME that you can't believe how long you lived without it? It could be a movie, a game, a band, a food, whatever! Just share your incredible discoveries.

For me, I recently discovered the band Arcade Fire, and I can't believe I never found them sooner. They fit my musical tastes so perfectly that it feels only natural that I found them. Seriously, "Funeral", "Neon Bible", and "The Suburbs" are all fantastic albums, and they appeal to my personal taste in music.

Anyway, what about your examples?

To me it was Batman, The Darkness, and many other comics. Also, surprisingly, Star Wars and Magic The Gathering

The comedy of Mitchell and Webb, taco in a bag, and nerf guns. All late discoveries in life which bring me much joy.

The entire Digimon franchise.

Most of it I stupidly passed-off as a Pokemon ripoff when I was younger, probably due to the amount of coverage Pokemon received over Digimon. Only now, years later, have I discovered just how much more involved the Digimon stories are, having actual plot and themes that translate well to the medium. I adore it entirely, and only grow in my fandom each and every day.

For me, it's probably Punch-Out.

I never played it back in the NES days, and between then and now, I was only vaguely aware of it (the most exposure I had to it was Little Mac's inclusion in Brawl). But, I decided to pick up Punch-Out when it came out on the Wii... and fell in love. I have since purchased the NES Punch-Out twice, once for the Wii Virtual Console, and once AGAIN on the 3DS, so I could play it on the go.

But Punch-Out is kinda a love-hate relationship. They're great fun, but they do nothing but point out how much I suck. For the Wii version, I can't get past the Von Kaiser rematch, and for the NES version, I'm stuck on the Don Flamenco rematch. And I'm NOT going to look at GameFaqs, since that would ruin the whole point of the game.

Devin Townsend.

On a separate note, HOLY CRAP the bass in this song.

Cheers to YouTube user AzuriteReaction for dropping his name on some comment somewhere, and inspiring me to look him up! He will proudly stand next to Serj Tankian (his solo stuff) and EndeverafteR as a great musician I found through you.

And also, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I went sixteen years of my life having never eaten one, due to not liking jelly (read: never trying it, since I've always been a really picky eater). Oh, what a fool I was.

Persona! Specifically Persona 4, but after spending 80 hours on it my brother figured that we'll buy every MegaTen/Atlus game that we can find.

Can't really call it random though. I think I learn of most of my entertainment from TVTropes first. After seeing it a hundred times, I figure that I'll check it out myself.

Also a member of Haruhi-ism. I'm just collecting the books now (and The Disappearance movie because it's amazing). No Figmas or anything like that yet, if ever. Yuki is love.

Glad I wasn't the first to think something nauseatingly sweet like this, though for my girlfriend.

To any programmers out there, I'd strongly recommend you try it out, as it makes the most sense of any language I've ever used & is still powerful enough to make some serious applications with.

I've also discovered http://www.jamendo.com/en/ and http://www.clearbits.net/, which is where I get most of my music from these days.

Roleplaying and visual novels. I only started roleplaying a year ago, which I had never done before. I've spent a lot of time doing it, for the last year and even got a badge for best roleplay.

A friend sent me a link to Katawa shoujo in january. He didn't explain anything about it, just said that I should play it. I did, a few months later and I've played Fate/stay night, Chaos;Head, Steins;gate, Clannad, Kira Kira, Deardrops, Bible black, G-senjou no maou. XD I really love it, Steins;gate is one of my favourite animes as well now.

My girlfriend. Had known her for 3 years before we really got to know each other. Have been dating for over a year now, wouldn't change it for the world.

Other than that...probably 2D fighting games like Street Fighter, MVC, Mortal Kombat, and The Millenium Series by Stieg Larsson. Seriously, that last one? Read them. If not all of them at least the first. Best book ever, in my opinion.

*cough*PONIES*cough*

Umm... let's see...

Anime for one! Until last Summer I didn't even know it was different from Western Animation! And then my friend asked me to download Lucky Star for him... and it all went downhill from there!

And my Soon-to-be GF (hopefully)... I've known her all my life but I didn't realize how amazing she was until last year! She is basically a 63 of me... and I love it!

My friend introduced me to furries about 3 years ago, and my life has never been the sanme since!

As for the ponies, I got into them after I heard about the Derpy Hooves controversy... It sparked my interest, I investigated, and that spark never went out again...

Not including sappy "my wife" type lines?

Right now... Reddit.... I always assumed it was just some silly imageboard....

Being bored at work suddenly got less boring.

Power metal, progressive metal and parkour. Sweet nectar of adrenaline.

Oh and drawing.
And role-playing.
And ponies.
And Steam.
