My friend is obsessed with Pokemon and he asked me this, but I had no idea so I thought I would bring it here and ask. So, which none legendary Pokemon is the best?

Non Legendary Pokemon that I think is the best would be Charizard. I have always thought he was kick ass and he has never let me down as a pokemon. Sure he lose v Water and Electric and Rock to a lesser extent almost always delivers against all other pokemon. None starter and non Legendary is either Poliwrath or Metacross or Medicham. I think their combo of types gives them great versatility especially against some the niche pokemon of the Elite Four(why is nearly every god damn ice pokemon water makes fire redundant against them).

I'm guessing you mean "non" legendaries.
And in terms of pure stats and movesets, probably the pseudo legendaries. They are called pseudo legendaries for a reason, after all.
(The pokemon I'm referring to are Sazandora, Dragonite, Metagross, Tyranitar, Salamence, and Garchomp.)
In terms of awesomeness, Snorlax.

Base stat wise Dragonite, Salamance, Tyranitar, Metagross, and Garchomp have the highest for non-legendarys which is at 600

Edit: WAIT NVM it is Slaking at 670

It's really a matter of personal preference. A level 100 Charizard is obviously better than a level 50 Bayleef. Once a pokemon gets to 100 it's just figuring out if you are fighting a pokemon with a weakness or if you have a weakness.

I'm just going to repost what I said in another thread since it works here to.

There is only one answer to this question.

Octillery is fucking badass. Let me ask you this; can your Pokemon spit fire? Can your Pokemon shoot water? Can your Pokemon fire a concentrated beam of ice? Can your Pokemon melt the brains of its foes through the sheer power of its mind? Octillery does all of those things. If there is a beam based attack, Octillery will learn it. Why? Because it's an octopus canon, one of the most implausible yet ridiculously awesome combinations imaginable. Octillery says fuck you to the laws of physics and does whatever the fuck it wants. It's that awesome. Your petty logic has no effect on him. How can a fish evolve into an onctopus? Who gives a shit, it's fucking Octillery.

Seriously though, there are many different types of Pokemon to serve dozens of different roles in a team so it's hard to say which one is the best when they can all do some many different things.

It depends on what you're trying to do.
The most hilarious thing I tried was a suicide chu ... pikachu that's maxed on sp.attack, holds a light ball, and knows volt tackle.
Hits so hard half the time he KOs himself (from full health).

I recently played FireRed my first pokemon game since the original... prolly not the greatest game to play since it was just a rerelease of the original but with some of the newly introduced pokemon. It's hard to answer your question without knowing what game he has since each game has different pokemon but all the best non-legendary are acquired late in the game and generally have to undergo 2 evolutions the second of which is usually lvl 45-60 and they start at about level 10 so you have you're work cut out for you but since you get them at such a low level they are more powerful than other pokemon you were to get the exact same pokemon like say lvl 40.

But the pokemon to get that I can remember turn into pokemon equivalent to legendaries but aren't as hard to catch but can be FRUSTRATINGLY RARE and TIME CONSUMING are: Dratini evolved form Dragonite, Larvitar evolved form Tyranitar, Shelgon evolved form Salamence, Metang evolved form Metagross, Gabite evolved form Garchomp, Jiheddo evolved form Sazandora. All of these pokemon's final forms stats equal at least 600 added together which is EQUIVALENT TO that of the LEGENDARY pokemon but have HIGHER catch rate.

Some less rare ones that are good and can be acquired earlier in most of the games are: Magikarp evolved form Gyrados, Abra evolved form Alakazam thru trade otherwise Kadabra is highest form without trading (still a very powerful psychic pokemon till you can get mewtwo or metagross), Lapras, Exeggcute evolved form Exeggutor (only grass type pokemon that is really any good besides if you pick the starting grass type pokemon)

This second list is primarily off of my preferences and are not necessarily the best pokemon but they work well with most party formations.

Word of WARNING Gyrados is a Water/Flying pokemon never use it against Electric type they will one hit KO him even though has alot of HP since he has a x4 weakness to it. Same with Dragonite vs Ice

If your friends has any other questions simply tell him to go to http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page or just bulbapedia.net for short it will tell him EVERYTHING he needs to know about pokemon

Cant say I agree that Slaking is the best, sure he has one of the highest points in all, and has some pretty powerful moves, but you are forgetting one major thing, his ability.

Slaking's ability is Truant, which does not allow Slaking to attack twice in a row. If he does one thing on a turn, he cannot do anything else. Its like permanently using hyper beam on every turn you have.

Id have to say that it depends on what you are fighting, or on what nature your Pokemon is, how you are raising it, etc. that makes it if it is the best Pokemon for you or not.

Tyranitar, the amount of move types it can learn plus the fact it has insane stats. Also Dark + Rock = HORRY SHEET.

spiritomb or sableye as they are the only two pokemon in the game that have just the right type so nothing is super effective against them and they are immune to pyscic, ghost (I think) and something else.

Also sableye looks awesome.
