Typhlosion is an instant awesome.

Ctrl+F'ed Typhlosion. Was not disappointed.

Seriously, it's a mix of typhoon and explosion. There's not really anywhere you can go from there.

For that exact reason, pretty much this. Blastoise is pretty brilliant too, you just hear the name and you've pretty much got the gist of the Pokemon: A tortoise with cannons mounted on it.

When I first saw it, I thought it's name was Papas, which is Spanish for Potatoes. So I renamed it Potatoes.
I also wrote a cover of the Coldplay song "Paradise" (or at least some of it) to be about this awesome crustacean.

Ah, Paras, the most messed up of all Pokemon. Did you know that it's actually based on the cordyceps fungus (or something similar at least) and when it evolves, it shows that the mushroom has completely taken over? That's why the eyes lose their pupils.

I kind of over looked that part of it because you can rewrite a Coldplay song to be about it. How many other Pokémon can you say that about?
