Yes, that's the only time I'll change the voice in my head, if it starts with "Good news!"
Otherwise it's just my own voice, in the accent I wish I had. (A lot more neutral)

When reading, I don't really hear a voice, though if it was a recognizable thing, I think it'd be my own voice.

If my life was narrated. It'd be a three-man job depending on my situation. The 'day-time adventure' VoiceOver work, for when breaking from routine, would be Stephen Fry. The alternative 'night-time adventure' voiceover would be covered by Alan Rickman, and to finish it all off, the everyday routine parts of my life would be lightened by the master: Morgan Freeman.

I'd like to see anyone beat that combination!

Wassup. quick question. When you read text or go over something in your head, what kind of voice do you hear? is it your voice, a celebrity voice, or just something really epic?

personally, my Narrator is Ron Perlman. Dude has a great speaking voice, makes for epic storytelling.

When I read books, I often hear either Liam Neeson or Bilbo from LOTR reading to me.

When I'm making big decisions, I hear several people present different sides of the arguments such as: the WitchKing (LOTR), Gandalf (LOTR), and John Adams (HBO Series Special).

None of them represent any particular side of the issue. witchking and Gandalf are usually the opposites of a particular argument (witchking is usually anger/frustration and Gandalf is compassion and focus) meanwhile John Adams is a mediator of sorts, someone who listens to the extreme arguments of either side and bring the discussion to a more logical stance.

When I read a book, I start with my own voice, but over time choose a voice that fits with the character(s). So the badass character may sound like Ron Pearlman, and the smartass character sound like Ryan Reynolds, etc.

If someone was going to narrate my life story/my life while it's happening, Morgan Freeman, Ron Pearlman, James Earl Jones, or Sean Pertwee* would be my choices. My daily dose of EPIC would go up at least 900%.

*Hahka's/Radec's voice actor from KZ1/KZ2.

Mostly in my own voice, but sometimes I get Randal's voice (Clerks) stuck in my head and I read in a fast-paced, sarcastic manner for a while.
If I'm reading a book, I just subconsciously make voices for characters.

actually, the whole point of having him silent is so that you become more immersed and eentually become Gordon Freeman, Gordon is blank, you can give him any personality you want and become him.

After doing just a few rounds of The Underdome, her voice is embedded in your head whether you like it or not.

I kind of wish I thought in Nolan North's (Nathan Drake's voice actor's) voice. Because my thoughts need the word "Crap" involved more often.

Tom Waits.
Half the people won't know what he's saying about me cause they can't understand his speech. Half of the people who do still won't be able to follow his narration do it's demented nature. Half of the people who can understand both his speech and logic won't listen anyway because his voice grates on them. That leaves a select few who get to feel like the rest of us living on the corner of Bedlam and Squalor and follow the story of Dustin as told by Tom Waits.

OT: Usually, it's Chris Patton. For those who don't recognize the name, he's a prominent voice actor in the anime community. His voice is so versatile.

I typically hear my own voice. Sometimes with stories with a lot of people in them I alter them to sound how I think the character would sound.

Depends on what I'm reading. My main three narrators are Sam Elliot, Sean Connery, and Michael Ironside. Read a spy thriller being narrated by Sam Fisher, it's bad-ass.
