...God damn You George Lucas. You lucked out the first time. admit it so we stop waiting for something amazing. It;s only been like 20 years....
I think of it as Spielberg disease, only cause I first noticed it with him. Most noticeable in bands, especially the ones built on teenage angst. It is like their heart is just not in it anymore (which it is not) after they get famous and make piles of money big enough to swim in.
[Edit: you got in an edit before I posted, but I didn't want to erase this so blah! Or something.]Also 30 years - 1977 was when Star Wars: A New Hope was released. Watch the movies carefully the whole "He had the first three episodes already planed out" Is bullshit unless they meant he sorta maybe had a rough idea, but settled on the last three. There are so many inconstancies, even when he was able to view the source material and make changes so the first three movies matched up to the last three.
That said, I actually enjoyed The Force Unleashed. I had a lot of fun with the force powers, the little platforming was enough to be a challenge, but not enough to get old (unless you are OCD and have to get every last little thing completed). True the Star Destroyer annoyed the crap out of me. Until I figured out that force lightning worked like a charm on the Tie Fighters. The one thing that really annoyed me is that is seemed to suffer a bit from Gears of War syndrome. Were the game appears to have been slated to be longer, but was cut short. Leaving you wondering from time to time if you missed some part of the story.
Hey maybe I have just lowered my standards to much as great games get harder and harder to come by. Then again who has $100 million to invest in a game that is likely only going to return half that (or less, much less). Some thing has to be cut, they cannot do everything in the game and still keep it profitable, and if it is not profitable then why make it? I would rather the game be a little short then have the major failings be in other areas.
