Try living in suburban Britain. Nothing but underage school-girls all over the place. It's actually kind of sickening, as well as unoriginal.

The popular costume of choice at my uni seems to be zombie schools girls...aka, girls dressed up sluttily in too small school outfits with white faces, red lipstick and lots of eyeliner. Maybe some red blood marks (lipstick) if they're being adventurous.

Well, ancient Egyptians believed cats were more finely attuned to the dead and/or undead, they thought of them as gatekeepers.
Of course, we're not in ancient Egypt so it's probably the cute/ease factor.
