Jesus I must be playing on a different XBl than the rest of you or something I have had very few encounters with assholes. I have only blocked maybe 5 people in total and most of them was not because of anything they were saying but because thier mics were giving awful feedback or they had thier TV volume to loud.

Not all of them. Heck, I was one. But many players online, not just the 360, are a pain in the arse.

Because there are immature people in the world. Anonymity and an audience does not necessarily make you a fuckwad, but it tells more about true self.

As some people have said, they tend not to hate the players in general, but the exceptional (in a bad way) people.
A.K.A. the assholes. But then again, you get them on everything. as a great man once said:
"I'm surrounded by assholes!" and then "Keep firing, assholes!"
Ok, the second part isn't necessary, but it helps.

no matter in what you are logged in (Steam, PSN, XBL) you always find idiots or crybabies. XBL just has more than the average.

I don't think they hate XBL players. They hate XBL assholes. Similar to how they hate PSN assholes. As well as the rare Steam assholes. And internet trolls.
So basically what you're saying is, people hate assholes.
That or there's a hidden message we're not getting...

I'm on Xbox Live and I think there's a lot of tossers on Live.

Doesn't bother me, I just mute the pricks.

Despite there being assholes and dickheads all across the internet, there appears to be a much higher concentration of them on Xbox Live. I have no idea why this is the case, but anyone who has spent any amount of time on Live can attest to the douchebaggery that occurs there.

Just as everyone said, it's because the majority are annoying and use their mics just to annoy everyone else with insults and boasting. Obviously they can't generalize EVERYONe who plays XBL to be like that.

And of course there can be just as many assholes on PSN, it's just that none of them have mics.

Microsoft should make it easier to report players.

Let's say I kill this little kid over and over in COD:MW2 and he starts bitching and swearing like crazy! I should hit a button, record his voice and send it to Microsoft to report the player. This is similar to reporting abuse in WoW and sending a screen shot of the conversation. If we can start getting these people suspensions or the shear fear of being suspended, this should make most people think twice before being incredibly annoying.

This should stop the 12 year olds, they value their accounts way too much to risk them getting suspended.

Good idea? Bad idea?

MW2 should allow a "vote to kick" option.

i don't use a mic anymore because of all the kids online

and for the ps3 fans , why did sony put a voice changer in ? its fucking annoying
SWEET GOD ALMIGHTY, I HAVE NO IDEA!!!

That was the only problem I encountered when playing Killzone 2 online. It was good, had some good conversations with people, made friends, watched people's back and then the fucking douchewad with the REALLY low or REALLY high voice enters. I immediately mute the guy but, there is NO reason for a voice changer. None what-so-ever.

Some people are just assholes over the internet. A funny argument the other day between a friend and a kid on XBL. Basically at the end my friend said, "How old are you, 10?" to which he replied "Actually I'm 12 next month!" We laughed so hard.
