New Jersey drivers suck lol. Not to mention that their roads suffer as well. And people from New Jersey are too cocky for their own good.
what the hell are you smoking? go up north thats real Jersey, Clinton Flemington Lebanon, Union (i know that aint in the northern part) those are the real jersey boys not the tuff gangsters and those streotypes in Newark
I'm not just talking about the "gangsters", people from NJ tend to think they're better than anyone else. I meet people from other states and NJ is one of the most cocky states out there.
you havent been going north enough then
So? What does that have to do with anything? I'm talking about when people from NJ come to MY state and talk like they own the place, not the other way around.

I'll like New Jersey when you get rid of the old one.
Please?
The old Jersey [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jersey] is a dependency of Britain, hoss.

I'm a New Jersey boy born and raised, but I like to think I got the best qualities of the state (ability to tolerate any climate, nifty-keen accent) and avoided the worst (can't drive worth a crap, too much attitude). I think the perception of Jerseyans is that they have more attitude than NYC with less reason for it, and of the state itself as a repository for toxic and medical waste (especially on the beaches). But most of the people who believe that have never been to Cape May, or the Pine Barrens, or any of the other beautiful spots that aren't Trenton, Camden or Newark.

And of course there's always the "You're from Jersey? What exit?" jokes we're always stuck with. (Me? Exit 9 off I-95, unless they changed the damn numbers AGAIN.) But we've also got Princeton, the biggest Great Adventure theme park in the nation, and the Jersey Devil.

Hey, besides, at least we're not the Dakotas. I'm still pushing my agenda to have them decertified as states and instead turned into one giant Laser Tag arena.

So, you judge all of us based on a few Assholes? Did it occur to you that you might meet people from Jersey all the time, but you only know that the assholes are from Jersey because they, by nature, announce it? There's assholes everywhere (but especially in South Jersey. Sorry, that's my last rivalry-induced dig at them).

I'm just answering the question, that's why NJ gets so much crap because the majority of the people do have an attitude for the most part. I'm not saying I don't like people from NJ, but that's how most people view them. I even had this discussion with people who live in NY, Penn, Vermont, NH, even from NJ, and some farther away states (about this of course) and the most of them, that know people from NJ, do sound like the stereotype. Stereotypes don't come from nothing, they do have a basis, whether it was weakly supported or not. I don't use stereotypes but I had to list this because it IS why people from NJ get so much crap.

I understand what you're saying, I just take issue with the fact that you say "the majority of the people" from New Jersey when you really mean "the majority of the people who I know for sure are from New Jersey. The people who visit who you know are from New Jersey aren't going to be the ones who don't fit the stereotype.

But I know what you're saying, and you're right. I just find it frustrating that that stereotype exists, since I've lived in this state all my life and been all around it, and I have not met a single person (who I can remember) who fit the stereotype.

Sorry for any confusion. I didn't mean anything like how I said it originally, word for word. And I did mean most of the people I have met and I know that they're from NJ.
