Why does Prototype have a whole menu devoted to ONE cheat?

I noticed there was a cheat menu in Prototype, and I thought "oh! this could be fun! maybe they have cool cheats like 100% infection or having ALL (including your hijacking) abilities unlocked in the very beginning!"

then i looked it up and discovered that there's only one cheat, and its for a move you unlock later anyways...

who the fuck wastes development time putting a whole cheat menu in there just to have one fucking cheat?

why couldnt they have at LEAST something like unlocking cheats like in The Hulk Ultimate Destruction (also made by Radical Entertainment)? Why isnt there at LEAST the standard "invincibility" cheat? its so fucking stupid... i mean, i LOVE the game, but ive already gotten the story complete and all the achievements i care about... i wanna just dick around now with absolutely no consequences like i do in Crackdown's "Keys to the City" (which is what i always play). Im still gonna play this game, im actually gonna just do "easy+" to get the closest possible experience to what im talking about...

while im ranting about Prototype, here are some other things i think wouldve been awesome

-a way to attack without sacrificing ANY movement speed, like with the sword or claws.
-a power with the whipfist that allows you to have some, like "razor stiff-arm" that extends throughout the whole street to dismember anyone you run by for a short period of time
-a way to eat while on the move so you dont have to worry about web of intrigue targets getting blown the fuck up when you grab them.
-a way to catch and/or punch back missiles at enemies.
-COOL CHEATS!

and yeah, i know these would "throw off the balance" or "get rid of the challenge" but i think developers would just KNOW how to offset these things.

oh, and dont make any suggestion about infamous, i like eating people and slashing them up too much, plus i dont have a PS3

Cheat codes are a dying breed. I don't understand why, they have so much potential to beef a game out and make tons of memorable quirks.

I miss big head mode so very much.

Meh. Cheats are old hat.

You can still edit config files if you want them.

That game would have been great if it didn't suck.
Pretty much, yeah. So many games would have been better without the sucking.
But that's not why I quoted you: YAY for old avatar! :3

I agree, it was a very poor idea for them to include a cheat screen, yet not have any actual cheats (the move you unlock isn't that great).

I don't know... it was fun, but they could have done much better, and the most annoying thing is not being able to encounter Supersoldiers outside of missions and those little challenge nodes.

Cheats have now become DLC. Look at Skate's Time Is Money DLC.

Also, don't let the menu bother you, the game sucking should bother you.

Also, I say that Timesplitters did cheats right. Big Heads and Human Gun Sounds FTW.
There should be a monument devoted to the awesomeness that is Timesplitters! In games 2 and 3, I beat every challenge, completed each game 100%, just so I could use/have those epic cheats!

There's a user group if that counts. Come join us, we have cookies and unreasonable analysis of any news coming out of Crytek UK.

OT: Cheat codes should be in every game, and not just positive ones - there was an Action Replay code for one of the Zelda games which pegged you at three hearts. Stuff like that should happen more often.
I personally liked the Age of Empires cheats. They became traditional.
