I'm sure most of you remember Paul Christoforo, or at least all his zany late 2011 clusterfuck. I'm sure you remember Randy Pitchford getting a bit too defensive about Duke Nukem Forever reviews and making threatening allusions. Now another such creature has come to my attention...
Fortresscraft, the XBLA indie minecraft competitor has not been gracious [http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-02-17-fortresscraft-creator-rejects-minecraft-clone-claims] when confronted with (inevitably anticipated) border-plagarism comparisons to minecraft. Generally, the creator's comments seem a bit "dost protest too much", if he really believed in his creative vision as something beyond exploiting a popular gimmick on an unreached platform. His attitude has always seemed untactful, but not nearly so much as his PR man "DJ Keemstar"*:
Horrible.
Anyway, 3 instances of poor PR is hardly a TREND, but it is all in the last year or so and kinda makes me wonder: What qualities do these guys demonstrate that make people WANT to work with them in the first place? is it just the bravado and "I got the hookup$"? Does the order of magnitude of these people's rage have some kinda index correlating to how large profile (or not) their products are? Can you get away with more bullshit in a smaller team with less defined standards?
What are your thoughts, Escapist?
Also, why haven't they severed him and cauterized the wound?
