Why id YouTube suddenly recommending so many random livestreams?

Over the past 2 days I've noticed that in my YouTube recommendations there have been a lot of odd livestreams recommended. Here's a list of what I bothered to keep track of:

- 3 livestreams of kittens
- 2 livestreams of puppies
- 1 livestream of an aquarium
- 3 livestreams of an animated series having frames drawn
- 6 livestreams of random intersections
- 4 livestreams of space
- 3 livestreams of cartoon series marathons

There are more, but those are just the ones I bothered to remember. What the hell is happening with YouTube right now for this to suddenly be happening?

I've noticed it too. Only live
stream I ever saw was Game Theory and Pikapetey now it's everywhere

I got a whole lotta of recommendations for random street corner cams and store cams from some place called Jackson Hole, supposedly in Missouri.

Advertising a feature they have more confidence in I am guessing? Or a snowball effect of people live streaming stuff. Alot of animal stuff. I liked one of an eagle's nest that was pretty neat. Saw the mother feeding the babies a dead thing.

My sympathies, mate. I'm not getting any so far; here's to hoping that keeps up.

I notice a couple to especially from two of my subcribed Youtubers. Either way, I never cared for lived streaming as it suck my bandwidth.

You know, that I could understand, or hell content from people who make similar content to those you're subbed to I can understand, but the random stuff I've been getting live streams to in my recommendation box just does not add up in my mind.

Google taking the same approach in their competition against Twitch, like they did with Google+ and FB?
Shoving their feature in our throats and hoping we'll like it.

I've been wondering it too, shit's weird. Best one was named something along the lines of 'yeah I don't know why you've been recommended this either'.

I watched 20mins of a random small town America cross-street yesterday before I realized it wasn't a prank show, and a legion of mascots weren't about to run down the street.

Because Youtube is stupid? Try their auto-generated close captions some day.

That thing could make a multiple-murder news report comedy gold.

It is pretty annoying and random. No Youtube, I don't want to watch a livestream of burning man, kittens, or a LoL tournament. The really annoying part is that you can mark a stream as uninteresting (GTFO my recommendations) and it will pop back the next day.

I've been getting a lot of recommendations for yoga videos with weird clickbait thumbnails of naked women, which is strange because I've pretty much been exclusively watching let's plays by supergreatfriend.

Funny, I only got this because I was made aware of Kitten Academy. Youtube automatically recommends you similar things to what you've been broasing, whether you wanted it or not.
