im gonna start by saying, dont flame randomly and also i dont think it was a great film, just an alright film

anyway,
the film captured the same feel of teh originals and was fun, if a bit farfetched
personally i thought there was nothing wrong with aliens when compared to melting faces and invisible bridges and a guy who ripped out people's hearts and it showed it to them before sacrificing them into a volcano

everyone seems to hate the film so much but if you watch the originals, you see they're pretty similar
the only problem i had was shia laboeuf, pretty terrible performance really

but it's not a serious film and shouldnt be watched as one
face it, in reality the film could have been the greatest film ever made and people wouldnt have liked it just cause it came 20 or so years later and everyone hates lucas and shia

great, let's roll on the one sentence answers to do with aliens with no detail for the opinions - it wasnt great, but it gets too much stick, though a few scenes really were laughable

I liked it a lot, I don't get the criticism for it.
Most criticisms of the film can generally be boiled down to "They changed my childhood movie and now it sucks".

I liked it... people moan too much, were their childhoods really scarred, or did they just watch a sequel that wasn't identical to raiders of the lost ark, and therefore devil worshipping?

I quite enjoyed it, they may have went for effects over the wit of the original films, but I think the spirit was still there... Plus, it was fun to spot those little nods to previous ones.

Me too, so aliens was too much but the ark killing nazis wasnt?
The commentaries said that they were more of inter-dimensional travellers than aliens

I agree with NoMoreSanity here. Sure it wasn't the same film as the originals but the audience wasn't the same as the original trilogy so who cares?

I had this conversation before, I think it's the introduction of aliens through a series based on magic/curses (now before you all start arguing go http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.120743?page=3 read post 87 is where it's starts then the argument begins post 101. You can go follow the quotes if you want i doubt my responses will change)

I liked it till aliens btw, the rest of the film is fine

It was a lot better than Temple of Doom but just not as good as the other films. Last Crusade was a hard film to top and the main problem for me with Crystal Skull was that it tried too hard to hit too many of the same notes only louder and failed, like a bad cover version.

It was all right. I could have done without Shia Labeouf, as every part he seems to play comes down to nothing more than 'lovable doofus', and it would have been nice to see a more earthbound mystical force (like in the other movies), rather than chocking it all up to aliens. But, these things didn't ruin the movie in my eyes.

The only thing that might have made me lean towards the franchise rape point of view was the ridiculous CGI moments like the nuked fridge and the Tarzan moment with the monkeys. They were just annoying.

I just didn't see at as an Indianna Jones movie.

I thought the humor was bad, some of the dialouge was pretty awful.
I was entertained, oh yes, but not as much as I had expected.

If they had called it something else than Indianna Jones, then I would have thought it was a great movie, but I simply didn't think it was an Indianna Jones movie.

If my arguments seem a little vauge, than it's because I have only seen it once, so I like memory to go into details...

Well, I grew up with good old Indy, but while I'm not scarred for life, I was pretty dissapointed. It's just not very good. Still, it's not like the second one was a masterpiece, and people don't ***** about that either.

Enough said.
I didn't hate the movie, but this.

SO MUCH THIS!

THIS TIMES 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000!

Lead cannot stop the heat of the sun caused by a nuke! >.<

Plus the impact would shatter every bone in his body. Both impacts actually, the one that sent him flying, and the sudden stop when he landed.
