Will 2011 Be The Year You Try New Gaming Genres?

I have a problem. Every time I go to buy a new game, I can't bring myself to get out of the box. I keep buying the same types of games. Of all of the different genre's out there, I've explored so few of them. It seems like I have so many games, yet, they all seem so similar in style, art direction, etc. Does anyone have any tips on the best way to get out of my gaming rut? Thanks, boards.

Since the only games I'm looking forward to are Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3 and Portal 2, which are all sequels and to some degree shooters, I personally wouldn't find 2011 a good year to get switching.
Unless, however, you look backwards. Maybe look for games for past systems on stuff like PSN or XBLA, might be more variety than in game stores nowadays.

Everything from Heavy Rain, to Disgaea, to Lost Planet, To Tekken, to Devil May Cry, To Fist of the North star To Worms World Party, to teh Total War series to Persona 3 to Phantasy Star to CoD Black Ops to Trapt to.....you get it right?

I plan on buying all the awesome PS3 exclusives coming next year. That and Gears 3 for Xbox.
