So, as a regular visitor of Know Your Meme, I've been aware of this for awhile now. For those who aren't here's the short version: Winnie The Pooh's Home Run Derby (an online flash game) is one of the hardest games in recent memory. Here's a link:

http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/winnie-the-poohs-home-run-derby

So, I decided to try it out. God... I hate to admit it, but Winnie The Pooh's friends have shoved ALOT of softballs up my ass. I just gave it another shot this morning, and finally beat Owl. I just tried Tigger for the first time... holy shit.

So, have you tried this yet? What's the furthest you've gotten?

I beat Christopher Robin on my second try.
Odd thing was, the more I concentrated the worse I did.
I had to be listening to music and talking to a friend in Skype.
Told the person what game I was playing, and heard them get stuck on Owl.
Good times...

Kanga pissed me off, and I'm too lazy to try again.

I gave it a shot. Made it to Kanga and Roo without having to repeat any levels, and then their bouncing pitches messed with my head. It's an interesting game, but I don't know (at least at this point; I'll have to try and make it further) that I'd call it one of the 'hardest' ones. It's all about patterns and timing, which aren't overly difficult to get the hang of, usually.

I just gave it a shot. Owl beat my winning streak. It seems there's a huge leap in difficulty with the owl, and not in how the pitch is thrown. The distance the ball travels when hit is changed. I went from making every hit a homerun to only one hit in five making it passed the fence. It seems that the game decides to gimp the player at that point and I don't have the patience to try over and over until the RNG decides to play fair and make my hits homeruns.

I just got to Owl. The only one I had any real trouble with was Kanga & Roo.

That reminds me of the thread I saw about this on /tg/.

one of the highlights was this picture.

at least in my opinion.

Anyway, i got to tigger, after being stuck on OWL for about an hour, and then it was 11 PM on a school night (im in high school, but i need my sleep), so i stopped there. I had to upgrade the hell out of my distance to beat owl though, since all of a sudden my hits barely made it out of the infield when they didn't fly into the river.

Make it to the final three pitchers, THEN tell me that the game isn't that hard. The first five are just an extended tutorial.

Kanga is definitely the toughest of the first five, but Rabbit, who comes next, is a joke. Once you hit Owl, the game reveals it's true, sinister nature.

I'm stuck on Tigger. I didn't find Owl that difficult, but the amount of balls Tigger requires to be hit is just too much. I quit there.

Owl is a step up, that's for sure. But once you get the hang of his pitches, he actually isn't quite so bad. I mean, he's still a royal pain in the ass compared to the other pitchers, but, again, once you get used to his method of pitching, get the timing down, and pump some points into your stats, he's a bit more manageable. Disclaimer: Owl is where I stopped. I'm using my laptop's track-pad to play, so he gave me a bit more trouble than he probably would have otherwise, and I decided to wait until I had a mouse in my hand to finish up. From the sounds of it, Tigger and Christopher Robin are going to be an exercise in futility without a real mouse.

I feel it necessary to state that, given that this game is based around subject matter for children, and therefore, presumably meant for a younger audience, some of the pitching styles are definitely a bit much. It almost feels like a bad joke.

Owl is nearly impossible to figure out where to move for. I still haven't managed to beat him, and I'm not sure I actually want to.

I figured out how the game works.. it's all in timing obviously, like wiisports baseball.

However my first failure came on lumpy.. I got through everyone else in one try, including kanga. Owl was my next failure, but I got him third try.

Fuck Tigger. That's all. Fuck Tigger.

I didn't beat Christopher though, I can't be arsed to replay every time I miss 10 shots out of 50.

I beat Eeyore on my second try. I would have beat Lumpy on my first try if they didn't BS me out of 2 home runs. The second time, every ball I hit up until 5 left went foul so I was basically dead-man-walking. There is no middle finger big enough! I got it the third time but I think that was just the computer taking pity on me. Losing to Piglet was just too fucking emasculating...I'm done with this.
