I am lvl 32, have done almost everything in the main game. So after i killed a wyvern on a small tower in the expansion area, i jumped off the tower and died, i load last game and i suddenly find myself staring at radovid in the ambush again.
I lost three hours of work.

What the fnck?
I tried googling for anything on this problem but nothing showed up but advertisement

EDIT
Well after hammering the space bar and mouse buttons for an hour i think i am roughly back to where i was

I could not even finish the regicide mission on the save i mentioned before, nothing would happen, i had to do the bridge part like four times over before i got to the cutscene with the cut.

This shows you why relying on autosaves is bad, you are completely fncked if something like this happens.

Back in my day we didn't have autosaves. Hell back in my day games didn't have saves at all! But i always, ALWAYS manual save if it's available. To take it a step further, i have multiple MANUAL saves if it's possible.

I just got done with the dlc a few days ago and never had that problem, i guess you're just unlucky. or you went on a long exploring run without triggering an autosave, which I'm sure has happened to me.

I play on xbox 1 though, not pc.

Witcher 3 intentionally deletes old autosaves to prevent save scumming. Strange that it didn't do that here.

It kinda seems like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout's auto-save. You can explore for hours without getting the game to auto-save. I know I've lost about an hour on my Witcher 3 as well due to a game freeze.

The game only autosaves when you finish a main or side quest or make some sort of significant advancement somewhere hey (like made an important dialogue choice or discovered an area/item relevant to a quest), apart from that anything like discovering and finishing any point of interest or exploring and discovering stuff doesn't get it to autosave.

Although I must admit I've even had times where I finished some side quests like treasure hunts (both standard and witcher gear) and it didn't save, resulting in me once losing way too many hours worth of treasure hunt quests and exploring.

All in all, manually save a lot is all I can say, the autosave system really cannot be trusted.
