Wolf, Dixie Kong and Alph Join Super Smash Bros. 3DS (As Alternate Costumes)
Some Super Smash Bros. fighters will have rather extensive alternate-costumes.
Wolf fans may be happy (and disheartened) to learn that their favorite character will be making it in to the new Diddy Kong [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/137127-Super-Smash-Bros-for-Wii-U-and-3DS-Adds-Xenoblade-Chronicles-Shulk], Olimar and Link respectively.
The security at these events had reportedly been pretty tight, with Nintendo trying its best to ensure fans could not take pictures or video of the pre-release copies of the game. But one crafty fan [http://smabros.net/archives/12500277.html] did eventually manage to sneak a couple pictures of the new costumes, which you can check out below:

For those of you wondering, Alph is one of the three explorers who replaces Olimar [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/125914-Captain-Olimar-Will-Return-In-The-New-Super-Smash-Bros] as the title character in Pikmin 3, and Fierce Deity Link is the scary-looking version of the hero of time from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The fact that these characters exist as alternate costumes means that any hopes of seeing them included as separate characters may have been dashed.
Other information gathered (but, unfortunately, not photographed) at the event include the fact that Little Mac [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/132236-Little-Mac-Joins-Super-Smash-Bros-4-As-a-New-Fighter] has a whopping 16 alternate costumes (8 for his fleshy self - including one featuring the iconic pink hoodie, and 8 for his wireframe version), and that most characters have completely swappable color palates, such as white Sonic and "shiny" Charizard.
With the Japanese launch of the game set for this Saturday, you can be sure to expect a flood of new Smash Bros. information over the coming week.
